General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
If you are getting a boner from that image then i am worried for the children in your neighborhood :cryblood:
>anything cute means you wanna fuck it
not even reddit is that dumb

I hope after this YT might look into how their reporting system works but that is too optimistic.
:story:

I'd be very surprised if thumbnails could trigger it as a lot of people use thumbnails that are the same but with a different number as part of a series and are still monetized. It could also just be some asshole at youtube who thinks our oshi's are shit pulling some bullshit.
probably a matter how often/long the image/audio recognition algorithm finds a positive. the biggest issue on YT is how everything's automated and only looked into after the fact, not before.

Well when the time comes, ill be there. I know she is running out of easy picks though as she done 21 Holomems if you exclude best girl YAGOO now. I reckon she could branch it out to the ID's for the Japs but that's on her to decide.
ID would be a good idea actually, especially after holofes. tho I don't know if the hype-windows is closed now on the jp side.

As a latino myself, i hope HoloES never fucking happens, spanish speakers are like SEAniggers but hornier, i don't think i could ever watch a vtuber who speaks spanish anyways, would just make me cringe to death, specially if it's some fucking mexican, spaniard or argentinian with a thick fucking accent.
Also spanish really doesn't lend itself well to loli/kusogaki style characters since it's hard to have a squeakier voice without souding ridiculous, most spanish speaking women would fare better with a hag/oneesan style character, spanish gura gives me nightmares.
I can already see Nimu graduating and coming back for Hololive. if HoloES happens it's gonna be rrat central. IC is probably going to be quite active as well.

As far as I know the spirit behind the clause was suppressing low-effort automated and/or mass-produced content (think tiktok compilations, the kids' channels that reupload very minor alterations of the same videos with different keywords, those videos that are just a text-to-speech system reading out reddit posts etc.), but in typical YouTube fashion it was sloppily implemented so plenty of people making content in good faith got caught in the crossfire.

The thing that makes this slightly different to copyright infringement cases is once the dispute's been filed an actual human YouTube employee does look at the channel which in theory should be a positive, but from cases like Lisa's channel it feels like the reviewer's some out-of-touch office worker who doesn't understand the context of what they're looking at. If I were to take a guess they probably just skimmed it, saw her character without understanding what a vtuber is and assumed she was posting anime clips or some shit. All the advice I've seen online from people who've had this issue resolved basically amounts to "patronisingly explain how you make your videos in the description and channel's About page" (if you ever see gameplay channels unnecessarily explaining that their videos are edited, this'll be why) which supports this theory.

Can I just say that the V-Tuber thread is the last place I expected to see someone with a fucking Trigger icon.

Overall it seems their hype has steadied.

Iofi and Anya have returned to being sub-1K viewers. Risu and Reine are 1-1.5K, but Kaela has already joined them in that category. Moona has steadied back to 3-4Kish after capitalising on her live performance with karaoke and a 1m celebration. Ollie and Zeta dance between 1.5-2K. Kobo never existed.

NijiEN x Touhou: Lost World sponsorship announced w/ Pomu. Apparently she'll have an announcement to make during the stream.

I assume it has to do with this https://twitter.com/PagePyralis/status/1520273096300670976

I actually appreciate that you brought this up because I forgot to post it at the time.

But the 'Surprise Announcement?!' part of the image came from Touhou: Lost Word's tweet, so it's something to do with the sponsorship. I looked up previous collabs with this game and they all seem to be music-related.

I believe the LazuLight stuff will start to be announced properly next week when Elira is back.

Was she monetized before this or was this the initial application?

One thing Youtube has been doing that's helpful with automation is they've been implementing more hybrid systems. For example if I submit a video these days there's a whole check list of things I go through and answer if the video includes it or not, then they sample a random selection of videos and if I've been right the system just accepts me as continuing to be right. They even show a comparison of how you were manually reviewed to how you marked things. Though that's only once you're in the partner program I believe.

They really need to have more transparency overall though as from what I heard people usually get little to no justification for why something happens and when they do it's often times completely absurd like the time they sent Rackets clips of where he supposedly denied the election results only for it to not even include mention of the election at all. If anything in 230 needs to be changed, it's that the company striking the content should at least note what was struck and why, it won't change them striking things but at least it would give people and idea of how fucked things are.

I didn't even realise till I saw a passing comment on Twitter, but don't be surprised if you don't Mel see do anything awhile, just bit more fuel to add to the fire at the moment. Turning out to be a pretty shitty Monday after all.

DeepL Translation
Last night, I had a death in my family.
It happened so suddenly that I still haven't caught up with my feelings.
I am going to take a break from the distribution for a little while.
I will be back again with my strength, so please wait for me.

2view Nana Asteria acoustic karaoke. She was one of the others who helped tutor Ririsya during her break and she has a pretty nice voice

edit: also just noticed she follows a bunch roommate accounts on twitter
That face when you get excited for a new 2view only to already be subbed. Shame on me

Lot's of turmoil lately, so here is a consistent source of happiness. Hologra even has rare vtubers like Shion and Ayame.
