Nick has a lot of growing up to do before he deserves a loyalty pledge. On top of the unaddressed grifter/fraud claims (compounded by this strange excursion to Florida -- is he one-upping the $70k car with a vacation home in Florida? What a noble and effective use of the funds his followers give him to achieve results with!), the guy is habitually late by HOURS, works like 2 hours a day and solely eats fast food while sleeping from 9 am to 5 pm every day for no reason.

Through my knowledge of pop-psychology I've made the following analysis of Nick's psyche. I'm not a PHD or anything, I'm pretty much talking out of my ass and a couple psych courses I took in college, so take the ideas I present here with a grain of salt. Anyway, I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it:
Much of Nick's behavior can be explained by him having a mother figure that smothers him and a weak father figure. Some of this evidence is based off clips from the show. Unfortunately, this is behind a paywall, and I really don't feel like searching through hours of footage for it. So you'll just have to take my word for it.
It's important to note in the case of an overbearing mother that it's not always the mother the child becomes attached to, especially later in childhood. Rather, they become attached to the qualities an overbearing mother represents. Thus, a child with an overbearing mother will, later in life, when growing up forces them away from their mother, create a new mother that fulfills those qualities. In Nick's case he's created a "mother" out of video games, staying inside and watching Netflix. This is an artificial, psychological womb that provides the comfort and nourishment he became over reliant on in early childhood.
I by no means want to defend Nick or his behavior, but I do have to feel bad for him to some degree. Sure, he's got money, but what else does he have? His aversion to criticism, his lack of introspection means he'll never grow as a person. His need for affirmation will have him surrounded by fake friends. His success with America First will run out one day. Considering he already bought an expensive car, he'll probably blow it all on stupid shit. Maybe not. But in the end he'll be stuck as island. Like King Midias, he may have as much gold as he wants, but every real relationship he touches will die. In the end, Nick is his own worst victim.
In the end Nick has the same fundamental problem as Chris Chan, just without the autism. Both have mothers that smothered them with their affection, and both have isolated themselves from the world due to their pathological need for that same maternal comfort from material objects. This causes both of them to reject people and ideas that would help them due to their hatred of discomfort from criticism, causing them to spiral when they run into problems. Instead they embrace yesmen that only stick around for personal gain (For the money and popularity in Nick's case, and for lulz and fame in Chris' case).

To understand my theory on Nick's psychology one needs to understand the role of a mother and father in one's development.
Mothers are a child's archetype of safety and comfort. When they're infants they're totally reliant on her. When they're a bit older, they're able to leave their mother's bosom and explore the world around them. If things get too tough or too dangerous the mother is there to care for them. Because of this they have curiosity for the world around them, seeing the world as a new and interesting place to explore.
There are two potential problems in this stage: Either the mother doesn't provide enough care, or she provides too much. If she doesn't care for the child the child will grow to become anxious and aggressive. This is because the child is unable to properly explore without a figure who cares for him, and begins to see the world as a big unknown and reacts fearfully and aggressively, which becomes a psychological tendency later in life.
If the child gets too much care, where the mother smothers the child with her affection, then they also don't explore. Think the archetypal "helicopter mom", who doesn't let their child go outside, doesn't let them go out with friends, all that stuff. The child will develop a dependency on their mother. Overall the child will learn to be less adventurous, not to take risks, basically they become a total pussy. The child will suffer from low self esteem due to never gaining confidence from successful risk taking.
The other parent in the equation in the father. The role of the father is a bit different for males and females, so instead of using the word "child" I will use the word "son", as that's what pertains to Nick. On top of their roles I spoke about above, parents also teach their kids what it means to be a man/woman. This includes more conscious things, such as cultural stuff like one's household duties, or sex education. But it also involves things like mannerisms, how you talk, or your interests.
Many point out how Nick makes effeminate gestures, how he talks like a woman. A good explanation for this would be that Nick's interacted a lot more with his Mom than with his Dad.

It's to my knowledge that Nick was born premature. This would make sense with my theory. Pre-mature babies tend to have health issues and are smaller and weaker than their peers. Hence his parents provided him too much protection, never let him go outside, that sort of stuff.

As I described above, Nick is retreating to a digital womb due to a pattern of behavior established in early childhood.

Far far far too late to salvage this with common sense. These are the kinds of criticisms that Nick should have been listening to when it was just catboy Kami but at the point these degens are all he has left.
