A public charter school in Lehi has suspended a fourth grade teacher who identifies as queer after a video surfaced in which the educator describes several discussions with former students that a school official says are “inappropriate.”

The students, now in fifth grade, “come visit me almost every day after school and a lot of them are queer because I am queer. So, they figured it out and so I’ve become their safe space,” the educator says in the TikTok video.

Mark Ursic, executive director of Renaissance Academy, said in a statement Monday that the school became aware of the video posted to social media on Friday.

“In the video, the teacher describes several inappropriate conversations with former students. The employee has been placed on administrative leave pending a thorough investigation. Our teachers are expected to comport themselves with the highest degree of professionalism. Behavior that is unprofessional, in violation of state code, or that violates the trust placed in us by the families of Renaissance Academy will not be tolerated,” Ursic said.

Renaissance Academy serves about 750 students in grades K-8. According to the Utah State Board of Education licensing database, the educator has been licensed to teach in Utah since 2019, and has had a Local Education Agency license to teach at Renaissance Academy since fall 2020.

In the video, the teacher says, “I’m so happy that they are figuring out who they are and that they’re happy with who they are and they’ve found safe space. But man, I could never imagine being in fifth grade saying these things out loud, even though I know they’re all OK. I grew up super religious where nothing was OK. And so seeing this happen.” The educator then screams and then cheers “Yeah!”

At the start of the school year, a Lehi High School science teacher made headlines after a cellphone video of the educator expressing her political opinions to students in her classroom on the first day of school came to light.

In the video, apparently filmed surreptitiously by a student, the teacher used profanity, expressed exhaustion with the pandemic and she told her students that they don’t need to believe what their parents believe because “most of ya’lls’ parents are dumber than you.”

She also told students if they didn’t believe in climate change, they should “get the hell out.”

The Alpine School District officials said in a statement that the veteran educator’s behavior was “inappropriate, not reflective of the professional conduct and decorum we expect of our teachers, and will not be tolerated.”

The teacher no longer works for the school district, although the school district’s statement did not specify at the time whether the educator had resigned or was fired.

Although K-12 teachers have free speech rights, there are limitations in the school setting.

“Speech in the classroom does not have the same First Amendment protection as speech by a private individual outside of a school setting. School districts have the authority to control the content, curriculum and methodology adopted by school staff,” according to an ACLU guide titled Free Speech Rights of Public and Charter School Teachers and Staff in Utah.

Alpine School District’s code of conduct states that employees and volunteers are expected to act professionally.

“This includes communicating in a civil manner and not promoting personal opinions, issues or political positions as part of the instructional process in a manner inconsistent with the law,” according to the code.

Renaissance Academy is not an Alpine District school. It has its own board of directors.

This story is extraordinary even among the bumper crop of groomer teacher stories because of a couple factors. One, it's the second time one of their "educators" has opened their big fat mouth and gone viral for stupidity in one school year. Two, the fact that this insane woman comes right out and gives away the game "because I'm queer, a lot of them are queer."

Here is the post on Libsoftiktok. You need to see for yourself how absolutely high as a kite this pedo bitch is, too. Worse than the Mary Poppins of Misinformation. The shit she says is just exceptional, I mean, fourth graders playing a little kid board game and talking about "lesbian baddies"?

She has shut down her tiktok, of course. Her facebook is pretty boring. The school already scrubbed her from their website but there is an archive. On her linkedin she says "I want to change the way children experience food. My goal is to set up culinary art programs in all elementary schools across the country. " Jenna lives at:

An education degree should not only not be required, but anyone with a teaching degree should have to take cult deprogramming training before they’re allowed near a classroom.
Institute fit and proper person requirements as part of licensing. The problem with that though is assuming you can find noncucked psychologists to design the appropriate testing and noncucked board members to set the appropriate boundaries on the results.

We have to start raising teacher salaries until access to children isn't why people take the job anymore.
Teachers earn above the median income for their district in all but the reddest of red areas, and public school outcomes have a much tighter correlation with the percentage of White/Asian kids in the district than the amount of funding or teacher pay. The amount of money isn’t the problem; why would pedos/groomers complain about being paid more and having access to kids?
A major factor that contributes significantly to the education
establishment becoming infested with these goblins is how
easy it is to obtain the degrees and licenses.
There is no need for an education degree to teach. It’s purely union protectionism enshrined in law. The only “useful” skill they teach is classroom management, but you don’t need a four year degree to learn that. We’d be better served by having random parents teach elementary school and by having retirees teach middle/high school. My best teachers were retired from a career as a scientist/engineer and therefore actually knew what they were talking about because they’d worked in their subject area for 50 years.
If you raise standards without raising pay it makes even less sense for you and I to become teachers and more sense for those where the money isn't what is important.
Yup, why else do you think they went into teaching? There practically no money in it
We’ve been raising pay without raising standards for decades and all it has accomplished is paying more for the same or worse performance. Raising standards doesn’t mean hiring people with “advanced” degrees (which currently means masters/PhD in education), it means hiring teachers who can actually teach.

Teachers earning nothing is a myth propagated by teachers constantly complaining to their classes about being underpaid. Teacher salaries are public info and it really rubbed me the wrong way when a teacher complained about being underpaid to a group of kids whose parents earned less than them.

@quaawaa

As for my experience, I do live in a very red area. Multiple family members volunteer at my childrens' school and we know that the teacher pay really is that bad. Lo and behold, in the next city over a troon teaches second grade. I feel a more robust hiring pool that included the type of people you mentioned would result from increased pay. Then, yes, troons would complain that they need to compete with more qualified people.

Ahahaha could it get better? It did. Last month she was featured by none other than George Takei as a stunning and brave educator-martyr who has to work a part time job at Starbucks to make ends meet. (archive)

Being a teacher comes with endless rewards.

It does not, however, come with a particularly high salary.

Jenna Hall, a second grade teacher at Renaissance Academy in Lehi, Utah works part time as a barista at Starbucks to make ends meet.

Hall recently posted a video to her TikTok page, where she goes by the handle @miss_hall_, documenting what her shifts at Starbucks are typically like.

The under-one-minute video has received over 207 thousand views and resulted in a passionate debate in the comment section.
The video captured Hall, at an increased speed, doing everything from taking orders to making drinks, to doing dishes and mopping up the floors.

Hall expressed the best thing about working at Starbucks was the free food, as she captured herself happily eating a bagel.

In one of the more poignant moments of the video, Hall could be seen rounding up all the money in the tip jar.

Though Hall said she never quite knows how much she'll take home in tips at the end of each shift.

"No, I don't know how much money we got in tips."
"That's divided amongst everyone based off of how many hours you work."

Hall ended the video by sharing what she felt was the biggest perk of working at Starbucks, which was bringing home all unsold food at the end of her shift.

She revealed in the overlay her students also reap the benefits of her second job.

"I save the cake pops to use as class rewards."
For her part, Hall didn't appear to show any shame or resentment at having to work a second job.

She even declared in the video's caption:

"Working at Starbucks definitely has its perks".
Many viewers, however, were horrified at the idea teachers have to work a second job.

"We just want equal rights".
I still fucking hate myself for believing this back in the mid 2000s when shit like gay marriage/rights was a hot topic. Pretty much everything the Christian fundies told me was spot on and the speed at which everything changed was insane. I hate I have to admit the people thinking video games, Pokemon, DnD, metal music, and Harry Potter were satanic were actually right (On this issue).
It's partially not your fault. You were raised in a culture that taught you that gayness and good fee fees are sacred.

The average elementary school teacher salary in Utah is $57,570 or so. How is that not enough?
Not in Highland it isn't. Highland and Alpine are the armpit of Utah county but they are most definitely wealthy towns. She probably still lives with her parents though, hence the Highland address.

I will never forgive the left for appropriating my culture.
If it makes you feel any better, they don't give a shit about your culture and would prefer if you all died. What they're appropriating is black culture. If you're old enough to remember when every "cool" teacher incorporated some variety of "yo yo yo homes, that's the soh to the cah to the toa in the house" cringe-laden Dead Poets Society bullshit, it's the same thing. They think acting like the funny negroes on TV makes them more relatable to the kids.

Unless you are black, in which case I am truley sorry for your lots.

Party: Republifag LMFAO big irony
Lefties in clearly red states do that all the time. It's because the Utah Republican party runs a closed primary (meaning only party members can vote, not independents), so they all register as R to try and sway it so the RINO candidate is the one that wins the primary.

Ya'll is a common southern phrase that most whites use down there dude. The blacks stole it from them.

Yes, but the wokies don't know that. They just know that black people are SO COOL and SO URBAN and WOW I LOVE the way they TALK and DANCE and PLAY BASKETBALL.

It's kind of like how Americans don't speak English, we speak American.

Less "stole" and more "lived among them for centuries and cultural crossover is inevitable".
Same reason white Scots-Irish culture resembles hoodrat culture so much. Like, read Hillbilly Elegy and tell me JD Vance's community doesn't sound literally exactly like the ghetto, but with meth instead of menthols. His grandparents literally beat up a shopkeeper and trashed the shop because the guy told young JD to not play with an expensive toy.

It's not a question of money or training, it's that the entire school administrative apparatus in theses cases is designed to find, recruit and enable this EXACT kind of person for their own political vanity..... giving them more money just means they'll hire more of their friends to the diversity and inclusion board so they can pick the wokest textbooks and most diverse genderspecials right out of college to teach the Kindergarteners..

When the shopkeep threw his kid out of the grocery for shoplifting candy, famed white trash asshole Ken McElroy returned to the store and blasted the proprietor with a shotgun, and then started stalking the jury memebers and witnesses who were going to testify at his resulting trial. It's one of the reasons the entire town decided to just let someone up and gun him down in the street in broad daylight and refused to ID who it was....

Hoodrats, travelers, trailer trash, they're all the same because they've all got the mindset that Da Man (tm) is after them for no reason at all.

I'll never forget the day we had to explain to the one black kid in our D&D group that "Wiggers" are a real thing, we didn't just make them up.... he thought we were joking when we told him about suburban white kids who tried to be black as they understood it through gangsta rap lyrics.

I hate that these degenerates are shitting up my beautiful state. They've fucked up the West Coast and now that they can't stand to live there anymore they move to decent states like Utah and Texas to "educate and enlighten" the ignorant bumpkins in fly-over country. Take your regressive Woke bullshit somewhere else, groomers!
Everyone with a WA or CA license plate, and every realtor in my county needs to be minecraft-roped from the streetlights. In minecraft.

Please remember that the interior of the west coast states are deep red. Some are just escaping conservatives who have finally realized that the coastal states are a complete loss and there is no hope of turning the troon tide back.
