Something I almost never do is check out Digi's "Ygg studios" aka Digibro account anymore. It seems he's not only hella active; it seems he's hella desperate for cash.

Notice the "rants for superchats" every second video recently. Funny that he's releasing a summarised version of his own content while normaly, it's obsessive fans that reupload clips and parts of streams for the public.
In the Hangout Stream on the right, Digi says that doing this scattershot one to two videos a week helps his views and he's been blowing through seasonals to get some kind of algorithm traction. Apparently it helps, but I'm not seeing it as he's lucky to get over 10K views on most of his videos now. I imagine that withdrawal and realizing his boyfriend can barely make minimum wage is kickstarting his work ethic a bit, but I'm wondering how long it will take for him to burn out. It's a bit surprising considering that he's taking his career somewhat seriously now, but it's the definition of too little too late.

If people that put in ten times the effort get blacklisted for cussing too much (Uberdanger) then Digi's downward trend and general behavior is reason enough to suspect that he might as well start a new channel.

Now I don't doubt that doing a lot of videos a week will "help", I'm convinced that his channel has been pushed to the back burner in the algorithm. I wish the facade will fade and reality will hit him like a nuke powered train, but he will need some humilty first so that's a chance akin to snow in hell.

That would be Digi's smartest move at this point, but frankly he still thinks he's a YouTube expert and can bend the algorithm to his whim. Digi should have made a new channel the moment he transitioned and just left the previous channel dormant while he did all of his "soul searching". However like I said, he's too little too late and will continue to build his house on quicksand all while wondering why isn't working like it did before.

He still thinks he’s an expert at gaming the algorithm, sure, but at the same time I also think he’s aware on some level that he will never be able to grow his channel to the same phenomenally quick degree as Digibro. The failure of I Am Games and Digibro’s Turntable are testaments to that.

Did his sub-channels really fail because they were, from the get go, inherently bad ideas or was it because he didn't put much effort into them and abandoned the projects too prematurely? His Digi After Dark sub-channel is an example of his more meta work gaining not only many views in itself but also being so well-received that his viewers were willing to become new Patreon contributors just so they could hear their paid questions be answered with his rants.

Speaking of rants...:
A good video if one wants to hear Digi's voice, pre-2020, particularly with how indignant it gets when he gets worked up in his rant. Digi sorta shows a continued lack of self-awareness (with the idea of not acknowledging one's shittiness and only presenting a positive veneer to others), but it's a good rant nevertheless. Now if he was to do this sort of format of 3 or so minutes of his ranting and focusing entirely on the subject (and maybe actually receiving some Patreon money for the request), rather than streaming himself playing some shitty overrated Triple A studio video game or some millennial nostalgia one while he passively answers some Superchat question with little thought and focus.

Never paid attention to Digibro’s Turntable, but would argue that I Am Games was doomed to fail when Digi, who insisted on allowing the channel to grow organically without any interference from the main channel (never mind that he shilled it multiple times in videos on main anyway), didn’t bring in the big numbers he and Tom had hoped, so Digi just stopped caring by the end of 2018. The channel probably could have raked in After Dark numbers if they bothered to focus on heavily edited video essays on current games like Digi initially envisioned as well as the analyses of old GameCube titles. Of course, Conrad is allergic to work and I personally don’t find Tom particularly charismatic so the project ultimately tanked.

I actually did like the content on that channel, including stuff from Tom but yeah they just stopped because it wasn't an immediate success.

I've watched quite the number of streams when it comes to I AM GAMES! They had several problems aside from the lack of videos after the first batch on their YT channel:

Several issues:
  • Tech issues up the wazoo. They had tons of trouble getting their Elgato capture card to work without crashing, sometimes at loss of clarity of audio quality. This was never really solved and them wanting to do the couch gaming channel style content made most of their streams console titles. Having your capture card work well is a must in that case.
  • Most streams turned into full blown Digi Q&A sessions and you know how much he loves talking about himself.
  • Thanks to the above mentioned point, the whole hentai lexicon came up during streams. It's a miracle they didn't get banned due to Digi in depth discussion with chat on
    loli
in combination with rape, magical girls, gore, genderbending..... wouldn't be Digi otherwise!
It was basically a more random version of "Ask Digi anything" or that other stupid show he did where he would argue with anyone willing. With gaming. And a silent-ish Tom doing the actual gaming 8/10 times.
  • Neither Digi nor Tom have something that breaks the mold when it comes to gaming. They aren't really skilled, have at best a niche audience that genuinely watched for the gaming, don't bounce of eachother well enough to fill the silence, nor have a unique way of playing.

I'm at the WATP live show and the entire Riley Crackhouse vs Ralph crew is here, including Digi who looks like an ugly C.H.U.D in like an ill-fitting sundress.
Digi tweeted this about two hours ago; he appears to have deleted it for some reason (maybe he realised his tweet was too critical about Who are These Podcasts and did a hasty delete):

Bird has taken two shots of his own of the event on Twitter:

Yes, that means Digi and Bird are currently both in Nashville:

He really needs to stop smiling with his teeth.

The Yggers did a 6+ hour long livestream, "The Rant Room", earlier today where Digi's fans could, exclusively through the Yggers' Discord channel, call in and rant on any given topic of their choosing for no more than three minutes, after which Digi will rant back in response:
"The Rant Room (call in to rant, and I'll rant about your rant!)"
Call in via: https://discord.gg/zF35V4pG
Come prepared with a rant MAXIMUM THREE MINUTES to deliver as soon as you come on the show, and then I will rant about your rant and interview you before bringing in the next caller. This is a new show format idea, and if you do well on the show, you could become a regular ranter on the show!

I looked at a bit of this, and it's not just Digi doing paid rants, it's rants about his fans' rants. They call in for a timed three minutes then Digi chats in response. I think he's literally trying to get viewers to pay for the privilege of making his content for him. It was too boring to watch for more than a few callers, but does show you the type of person still following the channel: very young fangirls, aspiring youtubers, and serious autists. Caller three or four was a monotone guy whose hobby is streaming himself reading the wikipedia articles for various genocides.

Funnily enough his After Dark channel was already doing this; his patrons would pay him to rant about a topic that was usually a detailed rant in itself by the patron.

Part 2 is currently live; it will be interesting to see a) how much Digi makes from this "new" rant format b) will he actually continue with it.

And you're right; only the most exceptionally hypersperg fans of his have remained.

Personally, I much preferred his rants of old, which were limited to a relatively strict format of a pre-recorded 3-7 minutes concentrated rant, rather than a discussion with the questioner over a livestream, the length of which would tax the endurance of even the most dedicated Digi fan

Part of the reason why he might be doing it in a livestream format is the ease of doing it that way. People pay you when live and create your content for you. Remember the rant-hole and how many rants he had in backlog to create videos on but in the end never did even though people payed him for it? Or did he eventually get those finished at least?
