Honestly, it's already illegal to wear body armor "during the commission of a felony" but to be honest, there are situations where I can see it being useful. I grew up in the Y2K to early 2010s era, and when I think back to my relationship to the Internet, it was always just a place to look at funny shit going on and listen to music/play games. Social media has fundamentally changed our relationship with technology and allows people to do, think and act on impulses that are really psychotic just for upvotes. Kids from Gen Z onward have grown up with this shit their entire life and cannot tell the difference between a meme and reality, because the Internet is their reality. Social media execs are to greedy to do something about it and most importantly, their parents are too lazy to actually do their fucking job and teach these kids how to be a proper functioning human being, It's why we have so many shitlib commutrannies and alt-right conservagrifters that pander directly to kids: these kids are looking for guidance in their life that their parents aren't giving, which is how these people start getting groomed. This is also why people identify so strongly with political causes, even moreso than in the past:again social media actively incentivizes this behavior and forces people into camps of opposing ideologies fighting against the absolute evil rather than treating them as people (albeit people with shitty opinions). I really think the democratization of the Internet has ruined society at large and the damage is final. Fundamentally, people on the Internet 20 years ago knew that nothing there was real, there were no real names tied to any accounts and this is just for entertainment (unless it actively had to do with work in which case it was part of your job and again nothing personal). If I called you a "dumb nigger", it was whatever and you either called me one back or you left well enough alone. That mentality gone now and we're reaping the consequences. The world is only going to get more insane until many people start taking little actions to fix this. The problem is that everyone doesn't want to take responsibility and will pretend everything is fine until someone else fixes this mess.
