Yeah that's only going to get worse as the cadre of Silent Generation/early Boomers that have the party in a stranglehold continue to deteriorate. SCOTUS apparently issued two opinions today and that's it for the month unless they change established scheduling or release it with that shadow docket. They're going to buckle and cuck, a cuckle, you just rip the band-aid off if the opinions stayed the same from the leak:

Fair enough I suppose but I just can't see the SCOTUS being willing to appear weak and influenced by "protesting". They do seem to put the SCOTUS having equal standing in society to the other branches of government as a paramount value even above personal political views.

But like you said it's just speculation borne of impatience at the end of the day.

If Roberts didn't completely expose his ass for Obamacare when Obama put him on blast months prior to the ruling (when he'd voted for repealing it), I'd have more respect for them being prudent caretakers of the law with tradition and time. Because fundamentally they seem to assume they can legislate away morality, that law is a barrier as opposed to a stick - No law ever stops anything from happening, period. Law provides a framework to punish people after it happens. But these perpetual children in adults bodies assume that the real world works the same as schools and the internet, where hard ban rules can be put in and there's nothing that can be reasonably done to evade them, in their eyes.
