I was listening to Pulpy Syntax and DeeDee’s Spotify came up. Pulpy was unsure where she had come across DeeDee’s Spotify - was she forced to listen to DeeDee’s music while driving them around or was she “stalking” DeeDee’s online profiles. Thanks for posting this because I now know that she likely found the profile and added the songs in her continued quest to skinwalk DeeDee.Some highlights from DeeDee’s Spotify, inc one of Chantal’s favourite Madonna songs added 16 days ago, and Frank Sinatra-(Raw Chicken) Mah Way

a song all about being in love with cocaine. Hi Cokey![]()
So proud of Miss July 8th abstaining from all these drugs in the throuple apartment.
I had noticed that Chantal has been singing some very unChantal songs lately. Notably “Take Your Mama” by Scissor Sisters and “Smalltown Boy“ by Bronski Beat. Both are songs about young homosexual men dealing with their family and community reactions to them coming out of the closet. I don’t have Spotify and am not signing up for it to check but I wonder if Chantal found those songs on DeeDee’s playlist.
Regardless, that she was singing either is weird. I can kind of see the Scissor Sisters song because it’s not that old, in the scheme of things, but ”Smalltown Boy“ was released in 1984. It was way before DeeDee’s time and Chantal was a couple of months old when it got the most radio play. It was a left of the dial song back when the only stations that played that sort of alternative synthpop were college stations and gay bars. It‘s so gay and specifically gay that I suspect half of its target audience didn’t make it out of the 80s due to AIDS. I can’t imagine where Chantal picked it up if she didn’t get it from DeeDee.
And then there is the very real phenomenon of Chantal revealing some personal truth via the songs she sings. I guess sometimes a cigar is just a cigar but I can’t help but wonder what the fuck is going on with those three above and beyond the gross and disturbing shit we already know.
