The appeals process is necessary due to the fact that we're literally killing someone. It's supposed to be thorough to allow new evidence to surface and shit. Obviously in this case it's open and shut. He did it and the only question is his culpability i.e. is he fit to stand trial? If this fat fuck is insane we can't execute him. But yeah, the appeals process is necessary. Maybe not in this case, but certainly in other cases. Also unless he is brought up under federal charges, which wouldn't surprise me since this is so high profile and so open and shut, he can't be executed anyway since iirc NY doesn't have capital punishment.

I don't know why people have the impression that this guy actually had some genuine "Goal" here. He wanted to shoot people, found an excuse, and subsequently chose an easy target that was vaguely in-line with his alleged "motive".

He didn't choose something like a police station, political rally, or what-have-you because those are harder targets than a run-down supermarket. (Yes, I would consider an abortion rally as a comparatively "hard target". I'd expect they'd have some amount of police presence nearby to monitor the situation.)

I never said it had to be a big rally in a big city like the woman's march. I mean in my own town I've seen like a couple of women picketing.
