General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

What's the best way to do a poll in this thread? I'm curious about when everybody started following vtubers here. I'd guess even the vast majority of the regulars here started after myths debut or the Taiwan incident
Around August/September 2020, on a different account up until the whole quarantine episode of the thread.

I personally don't think the Rosemi comment was that bad, but I also don't know what their usual limits are. In my opinion it would make sense to allow discussion of those other agency/indie vtubers only if they are frequently seen collabing or interacting with a Holo member that has been brought up in the discussion.

Is the question when you started following vtubers specifically here, or when you started following vtubers in general?
I believe I joined this thread to provide info on Mano Aloe, which would have been prior to both of those events in like, what, August 2020?
When did you start watching in general?

They're just precious, is all. They can't handle Rosemi's power.

When did you start watching in general?
I was around for Nui Sorciere's debut which was the middle of 2019, but I don't think I started allotting time to sit and watch them consistently until I picked up Rushia at the start of 2020.

I'm here, in the farm, because Pekora suddenly cried on her stream.

The way I see in this particular case is the same of the following hypothetical case:
a post about a holomem using TTS on her stream.
a redditor commented: She is the Zentreya of Hololive.

Still on topic. Unless the comment contains: please watch/subs to Zentreya.

The same when they discussed Kobo's channel termination.
They talked about some random VTuber I never heard of with the same fate.

The thing is: I don't watch Rosemi. So I don't know how bad that deleted comment was.

Was into Kizuna Ai during 2016-17. Dropped off for a bit around Kizuna's 4 Ai drama (but didn't know about this yet) because her content seemed different and people stopped translating her videos; remembered Vtubers were a thing in late 2018-early 2019, got into them again with Fuji Aoi and Suntory Nomu - learned of Tokino Sora around this time because she had collabed with the previous two but I didn't really find her interesting.
Late 2019 was when Matsuri's band-aid clip was recommended to me, and I learned of Hololive in Azur Lane collab and the rest is history.
Also uh, Pewdiepie's Meme review introduced me to Shizuka Rin.

Been into the Vtubing hole before it had a name to the concept since I used to watch those super sonico presentation things, which if you look at it now it definitely felt like an early days of vtubing at its most basic level. Then I jumped back into it with Luna.

Also, Millie's 15-35 minute RFA stream most likely.

That doxx site finally updated Mika info. Same like Petra, the site also doxx her real name and school she goes to. Plus Mika photo when she still clearly underage. Yup, just too much.
Damn you weren't kidding. I'd say I'm surprised at the level of autistic faggotry generated by coworkers hanging out together, but I've read /pcg/ before.

Started here? Probably 2-3 months before my join date. Vtubers in general? Used to watch Shiro, Kizuna Ai, and Kaguya Luna when they first started but stopped around 2019-2020, but I didn't think of them as vtubers. The only "vtuber" I was aware of until recently was Gura but I never watched her because what kind of faggot would watch anime girls on the internet? Now I'm here and god will surely judge me for it.

Known of vtubers ever since Kizuna Ai days, and finds it kinda cringe and blursed and never never watches her.

But I started following vtuber from December 2019 because of YT algo handing out clips left and right from Nijisanji and Hololive, lurks the Farms since the Taiwan incident probably because the fanbase is really riled up and there's just too much misinformation and this place is better (at that time).

I think some regulars started posting less because of the null scare and life starts normalizing after covid vaccine.

Started watching vtubers back in 2019 cause of youtube for some reason smashing korone clips at me for a week straight and she finally broke me, but myth was when i went more hardcore into them since i could actually understand them live. lurked the thread till i finally was like might as well create an account chat some since one of the few places worth chatting about them.
Still can't believe the place i came too find out about Ohmwanker info and checking on the Sonichu story line is where i chat about women with animated bodies

Lurked this thread for the most part of the later half of 2020. Made an account in early 2021.

Mana has no fucking clue about shit going on in the greater vtubing sphere because she fucking lives in her discord. Biggest waste of talent and captive niche in the sphere.
