It's definitely the right call from a legal and diplomatic perspective, but I can't pretend I don't love seeing someone tell any national government "you aren't nearly as important as you think - eat shit and die".

The difference between this and CP is that it's illegal to make money out of CP or distributing it. Meanwhile, the industry that makes money of this shit - that is the news - are fully able and willing to earn money off it. If various news media organizations get to rake in money from the violence and politicians and corpos get to use the corpses they feel like to try and attain power, then it's only fair that normal citizens gets to distribute information and freely speak about it.

Imagine being such a desolate shithole that you decided to introduce a "ESafety Commissioner".

Also they make it seem like we were "condoning" the shooting by posting it, yet if they took the time to actually read most of the comments they would've seen that most of us condemned his actions. I don't what the fuck they're getting at, but whatever it is they're bad at their "jobs"

Following on from the above, I thought I would see what you get when you file a report.

The first section you pick a form out of 4 (or a 5th option if you are especially retarded, they can help you pick the right form), this one would be:

Illegal and restricted content​

eSafety prioritises investigation of material that shows or describes the sexual exploitation or abuse of children, pro-terror material and material that promotes, incites or instructs in matters of crime or violence.

The next page gives you a list that appears to cover all of the possible options for all of the previous form options, which tells me there probably aren't different forms.
So we pick 'Advocates a terrorist act', and the following pops up down the bottom, take note of the second paragraph (my italizing).
Material advocates the doing of a terrorist act if:

(a) it directly or indirectly counsels, promotes, encourages or urges the doing of a terrorist act; or
(b) it directly or indirectly provides instruction on the doing of a terrorist act; or
(c) it directly praises the doing of a terrorist act in circumstances where there is a substantial risk that such praise might have the effect of leading a person (regardless of his or her age or any mental impairment (within the meaning of section 7.3 of the Criminal Code) that the person might suffer) to engage in a terrorist act.

Material does not advocate the doing of a terrorist act if it depicts or describes a terrorist act, but the depiction or description could reasonably be considered to be done merely as part of public discussion or debate or as entertainment or satire.

The reporter may have also done a second report with the alternative option of 'Violent extremist material', which states:
Violent extremist material depicts the death or injury of a person, or multiple people, as the result of an act of politically-motivated violence.

You then choose if you are a resident or business within Australia, which then results in additional information to add such as where the content was found, what device you accessed it on, the URL/s of said content, and finally a text box where you can rant til your hearts content about the evil doers and content on the forum.

Besides an additional tick box of 'contact me/don't contact me', that appears to be it.

I do wonder if they have KF bookmarked for alerts of complaints, with how quick this report was acted upon, as that is not the norm for any govt department within Australia.

Either that or they did it themselves, thinking they are so high and mighty everyone will do anything and everything they say regardless of whether there was any wrong doing, see above meaning of advocating/not advocating a terrorist act, or whether they actually have any power to do jack shit about it anyway.

Hard to know whether a particular shooting would have happened without the influence of a particular other shooting, However, there's some evidence that media coverage of suicides leads to more suicides; given how many goddamn shootings there are in the U.S., it seems reasonable to suppose that there's a similar effect with shooters, especially since some shooters (like this guy) say they were motivated in part by other shootings.

Again, I'm not arguing to ban the manifesto or the video.
