General Wrestling Discussion

Wouldn't it be easier to type, "If you are a bad person, please unfollow me. Thanks."?

Also lmao at using "please" and "thanks" at hypothetical white supremacists.

If you do like women's wrestling however, EVE- Riot Girls of Wrestling is still going strong in the UK. Funny out of all the feds, that is the one that kept on chugging along.

Mostly because it had the least amount of sexual deviants and flew completely under most people's radar. Also: the promotion had some wild women's matches like Mei Suruga vs. Jazz.

I think if Hall were more active during the ridiculous title trading in 2000, he would have gotten at least one run.
It's kind of amazing during that time who DIDN'T get the belt. For me, the notable one is that Goldberg never won the title again after the taser. Imagine looking back and Goldberg would have one title reign that went six months.

Then again, imagine thinking in 1998 that WCW would be dead in 3 years.

So the breech is them walking out after being told directly that they would be performing in the 6-way. This also holds up to the "independent contractor" portion in court since payment was processed for their attendance.

For WWE they have a system where you check in to the arena early in the day and that counts as you being there for the show. They also have another headcount just prior to showtime just to make sure dudes don't check in and bounce. You don't show up, they call and see wtf happened. You don't show up after that, you don't get processed for payment and you don't get comped for travel. Sasha and Naomi were there until the start of the show, so their pay was being processed by head office.

The WarnerMedia Discovery upfronts were today....and no mention of AEW. There was one wrestler though:

Presenting an all new season of Wipeout

Christ knows why they chose Red Velvet as the face of the show. Also, JR has signed a contract extension with AEW.

People seem to think Maki Itoh is the womens wildcard because losing to Britt won't hurt her and she's in the US but not working tonight. The mens is either Cesaro, Miro or Gargano.

EDIT: AEW re-jigged the arena set up for Forbidden Door and it's up to 17500 capacity now, 15000 tickets sold already.

So a little info on that: what you're seeing is a package for advertisers to subscribe to for ad time. This is essentially the "steak" of upfronts, and why advertisers are here. Advertisers have to buy into the package, not individual shows, so if you want to be seen on the NBA finals, you got to also agree to Hometown Kickstart and Windy City Rehab.

AEW is being shown on the same day as Big Bang Theory and fucking golf.

EDIT: Male Joker is most likely Cesaro or Miro. Gargano and Candice LeRay are over at Epcot Center today with Ciampa

Agreed, captkrisma should learn to look things up from time to time instead of pretending they know what they're talking about. Even a small Youtuber did a video on it already in the morning. I hope it was them accidently getting wrong black woman on there and wanted Jade instead. There's talks that because of this they're thinking about pushing Red Velvet. I hope that's not the case.

AEW and WWE are still being pushed as sports for the Upfronts. There's also talks about Tony trying to get a TV spot for ROH during this but I have my doubts as that's not how that works really. They need to get the advertisers money before they decide to do things like pilots for new series and WB doesn't want to do that this year. This is all about continuing current series for them.

That being said. WWE will be at the Licensing Expo in Nevada. Would be nice to know the types of companies will want to lease their contracts and how much it is. I only really know of Games Workshop going there to get video game deals (and back this year). Their license was $40k around 2016 which was cheap enough for some smaller developers to get the IP for games. Should also note that Warner Brothers will be back there as well. However AEW will not be.

It's almost like they're seeing sports and streaming right now in demand so they're showing advertisers sports and shows they have streaming.

All your goofy flaming shit
Or you could read what I posted. There was no mention of AEW at the upfronts. They showed one clip along with a still photo of Red Velet as part of a package that included guaranteed ratings draws in the NBA Finals and the Stanley Cup finals.

Dave was wrong, and AEW didn't get a massive push in the upfronts.

"who is samoa joe's mystery opponent?"
( lights go out )

BRRRRRAAPPADOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Twitter think's it's Gargano because of Ciampa commenting on being with a "bunch of jokers" when he was out with Gargano and his wife. While it would be nice to see him on television again it would be a waste of an appearance.

Maki Itoh would be nice, she get's over in North America well and hard for the West to confuse her with another Joshi like some do with say Mizuki.
