So there are only two possible scenarios here (technically 3, I'll explain later).

Scenario 1a: This is an elaborate gayops by Clara to prove something, and she is going to write some magazine article about whatever point she is proving here about online culture. She will compensate Ron for his time, Charlie and her speds have been informed and are laying off Ron so she can do her research and prove her point. The reason I suspect this is because this whole thing is very staged, starting with the picture of Clara on Ron's bed looking at her phone. That's also the reason their relationship is being 'kept off the internet and we aren't seeing any real affection in the staged photos (because it's fake)

Scenerio 1b: Almost identical to scenario 1a, the difference being that instead of the ending being some bombshell journalistic expose by Clara, the goal is to somehow expose Cliff. We saw this start with the two of them trying to ferret him out on kiwi farms, with Ron's stupid livestreams and Clara's accusations. They hit a dead end with this when @ADHD told Ron to get a job and that she wasn't checking IP addresses for him. So they've moved on to the next stage which is this fake relationship.


Sceario 2: While running her gayop trying to figure out who emailed her job (ScottStevensoughcough), Clara 'fell in love' with the revenge pornographer and in her head this is true love, and Ron is playing along to get what he can out of it. He is visibly uncomfortable in his declarations. If this is in fact the case, he will play along for awhile but once Clara packs her shit and heads to Indiana for good, he will panic and start planning an exit strategy.

The funniest part is that her lack of warmth and joy in the announcement couldn't be taken as evidence that they weren't a couple because you know that that dour, frigid, prickly old woman would be similarly cheerless in announcing a true and honest relationship.
