Lesbian General Thread for True & Honest Women who love True & Honest Women - (Lolfag) Media, memes, discussion & more

Disclaimer: I am a male, so I do not mean to intrude, but I have a question for you guys. I had a "lipstick lesbian" friend of mine go nuts and trooned out, the whole nine yards.

Anyway, I know that troons are frequently barging in to lesbian circles, but because of the high rate at which lesbians are trooning out, is it also becoming increasingly more difficult for lesbians to form stable relationships? Do you have to constantly worry that your partner is going to jump on the troon train and start taking HRT? What are lesbians doing in response to try and screen partners who might do this in the future?

Looking at what happened to my friend from college, I imagine it must be even more devastating for people you are romantically involved with.

All magical girl stuff is literally lesbian as fuck.
Straight man here. I love Yurishit and Dragon Maid is no exception. Here to say that in Chapter 97 of the manga Kobayashi drunkenly confesses her love for Tohru. Her being a lesbian was basically confirmed right there and then, pic related.

I’m out here but actually very closeted (only a few people know and I don’t fucking know where to go to meet anyone any
more without risking cocks in frocks and my knee) so is
very nice to find this thread. Will check out the animes suggested. Had no idea.
Moar for you:
  • Read or Die and Read or Dream
  • Madoka (original series) and Magia Record (side series)

It's pretty easy to sniff out the self hatred and doubt that future they/thems or he/hims possess. Lesbians that are at peace with being women refer to themselves and their lived experiences in a very natural, distinct way.

My girlfriend and I at one point were some sort of agender/demigirl or whatever dumb shit. We grew out of it eventually. The three female/female couples our age that I know of - two of them have a "partner" or "boifriend" instead of a normal gf. The third one only started seeing each other so idk much yet. Possibly normies.

I was obsessed with Homura and Madoka when PMMM got popular a few years back. I tried watching Magia Record but I remember not enjoying it very much.

So far, the best lesbian anime I've seen is Re: Cutie Honey. I was really surprised.

I enjoyed Magia record, but it's not as good, and feels like it was made explicitly for fans of the spinoff game.
That said, in terms of the topic of this thread Yachiya x Iroha is decently cute.

I'm still trying to get better myself, but I don't mind getting rather emotionally intimate with FTMs/NBs, I'm pretty sociable and I've opened up to them about my experiences that lead me to develop GD and my subsequent healing as a woman, and they've related a lot to what I've said, sayng that their transition was because of [le gay woman in conservative catholic culture that somehow manages to hate trannies less] as well. This is going to sound a little trite, but I feel like we could all do some healing together as people and end up as proud, stable women that would make our forebears proud. That said.. it's hard to date people like that, when someone is that much of a neurotic mess it can be hard to watch, and harder to help. I don't date for obvious reasons of trying to stop being a basket case, but unfortunately, even if I were dating, not many options are to be had, most women my age with my interests seem to have some kind of unhealed trauma from misogyny that leads them to identify as nonbinary.

I have first-hand experience with this: Emotional, physical, and psychological abuse at the hands of family and friends for the crime of being not only a woman and a gay human, but a gay woman, is the single best indicator of whether someone will transition. Not all traumatised lesbians/bi girls transition, but if they've had it shoved down their throats that they have to perform extreme femininity and heterosexuality in order to stay safe, they'll seek an out pretty quick. Of course, I don't mean to diminish the real struggles that men have with a lack of empathy towards their emotions and humanity by society, restrictive ideas of masculinity, feeling stuck in the role of being the breadwinner when one might rather be a home maker and the primary rock for the children, the expectation for men to stifle their emotions when this only causes psychological hurt for them and their loved ones, and other things, I have good male friends who open my eyes and I've come to see that life can be just as brutal and crushing for the other side. I am only trying to explain the thought process of a loony troon.

It's kind of like you're asking "would I worry about my hypothetical partner self-harming?", when you ask if I worry if they'd go on HRT. Mentally ill women with unresolved childhood issues go on HRT, if your partner isn't super fucked in the head, she won't. Like another said, you can usually sniff out mental illness pretty easily.

If you love and support her and tell her that she doesn't have to shave, have long hair, wear a bra, wear a soul-crushing costume, in order to be safe and a woman, she won't transition. Unless it's for a fetish, transitioning is a coping mechanism that is a very extreme form of dissociation. I was more accepted as a tranny than as a gay woman, which makes me sad. I wish more women weren't being forced to transition due to childhood abuse, homophobia, and restrictive gender roles, and this transsexuality business just enforces more old-fashioned gender stereotypes. Gender dysphoria is a real mental illness, arguably some subsect of BDD (a "child" illness itself of OCD, which comes from anxiety and trauma) but the treatment isn't eccentric body mods, it's self-love and gentleness.

I really hope your friend gets better, it's a terrible thing to be so traumatised, self-hating, and disconnected from one's own body that one can't even recognise their sex as their own.

>two gay women
>boyfriend
This isn't homophobic 1950s NYC anymore, butches don't need to pretend to be men to avoid getting raped and beaten. ffs, all this gender shit is killing the butch populations like crack and black neighbourhoods.

Apologies for the blogpost, I ramble when I care about the subject.

Legit interested: But why? And what brought both of you to sanity again?

Ah! So glad I found this thread and since:
Also loling at how a thread about genuine lesbians devolves into yet another anime discussion. Anime has too wide a fucking reach, god damn.

I figured I could contribute some retro recommends while I'm here. :feels:

Most of these are read-between-the-lines kinda stuff because I haven't genuinely encountered much that isn't just straight up fetish fuel for the trannies and/or NEET otaku set (like many others have stated, yaoi/bl is much more accessible and since it is female drawn/written it generally somewhat serves its purpose. Girly boys ftw, amirite? Lol not really but you know what I mean...).

1.) Project A-KO ( 1986 )

2.) Key the Metal Idol ( 1994-1997 )

3.) Gunbuster ( 1988 )

Link to full playlist: Gunbuster (Full series, subbed)

As of posting, all of this stuff is free to watch on the Youtube. I'd especially recommend these for the older dykes/half dykes like myself who appreciate retro anime but these shows are just so good that even the general weeb would enjoy. Now I'm off to go read this whole thread! 🌈🤣

Hello ladies.

While you’re talking about anime/manga I’ll drop a couple of suggestions (manga is a guilty pleasure of mine).

After Hours by Yuhta Nishio is a great three volume manga in my opinion. The relationship develops naturally and doesn’t feel forced or gimmicky (one of my pet peeves in any Yuri manga, looking at you Citrus), and it’s great if you’re into the electronic music scene. I came for the music references and ended up enjoying the story more. Also it’s a little ‘normie’, but I enjoyed Strike Witches, though the relationships/romances are slightly more implied than anything. The whole alternate reality WWII vs aliens is an interesting concept.

And just to sperg a minute…I was a huge fan of t.A.T.u back in the day and got hit with a nice nostalgia wave in the first post. :heart-full: I remember specially importing their Russian albums into my country and blasting them in my little shit box car. Good memories.

You're not intruding man, I actually think Q&A is wholesome and allowing people to ask one another weird or somewhat politically incorrect questions is often times the best way to genuinely learn something. This thread welcomes Q&A as well as carpet munchers.

Hello fellow dykes - does anyone have any literary recommendations for lesbian history? I’ve been searching for something good but wanted to check with my kiwifrens before risking reading something retarded 💕

Good choice. Did you want true history or did you want stuff written by lesbians about lesbians?

Here's my recs.

Nobuko Yoshiya

220px-Yoshiya_Nobuko.jpg
A Taisho and Showa era author who introduced lesbianiam to Japan as a sisterly bond between women. Her books were immensely popular with teen girls and young women and they were recieved well by the Japanese public. Her stories were usually always tragic feels and not all are translated in English (there's one called husband's are useless lel). Her work directly inspired Shojou era manga and anime . The Monogatari series actually makes nods to her with "hanamonogatari" (flower stories) because that was a title of one of her books.
Here's a link to her books the art style of the time is really appealing to me for the title covers. If you want her semi-autobiography "two virgins in the attic" is a good one.

Others Ive read that have lesbianism in them is The color purple.

I don't read much fiction other than Historical novels or historical fiction. Or Japanese showa and taisho era/Japanese novels because I'm a Jap. I know a lot of lesbians like "Stone Butch Blues". I've never read it. but she's very agressive and never shys away from anti-semitism or homophobia etc. She also made people call her "she" allegedly so they had to come to terms that someone that masculine was a woman.

If you just want Sapphic Authors... Virginia Woolf is one. She was outly bisexual I think she might have been slightly more into women than she came off as but she needed her husband to publish books because women writing at the time was a scandalous notion. No company would publish her. A " a room of her own" is a very moving piece of hers in terms of women's rights. I think she feels differently from heterosexual women in terms of what it means to be female having large parts of her life without men (or in polyamorous relationships before they were cool).

Also if you read yaoi/BL fanfiction of any kind the chances you are reading something written by a woman who is likely gay or bisexual are exponential. Fujoshi was started in Japan by lesbian women because in yuri, men would sexualize it. A lot of yuri is written by men for men the same way a lot of lesbian porn is directed at men. So gay women made something through the female gaze entirely and men got big mad because they couldn't coom to it. If you look at the art, its clearly all allusions to woman-ness. Long fingers and bones. Blood is sexual in these types of things and a common theme because to women, it means life and fertility where to men it means death and decay. Thus a lot of blood shows up in BL mangas. I think a lot of western readers misinterpret this type of thing thinking they are trans men or very bad for "sexualizing" (charachter that isn't even real or boy band who gay baits for women INTENTIONALLY). They also have trouble understanding why a gay woman wouldn't want to watch yuri (it's because she feels objectified). So for this reason I consider all BL groups lesbian/bisexual female history and lesbian authors. It's women being horny and expressing their sexuality and I support this.

This is what I was touching on earlier, I find a lot of Yuri works completely unrealistic because they’re lesbianism from a man’s perspective, if not bordering fetishistic. I like reading about people who naturally fall in love, and I’m a sucker for ‘us against the world’, ‘forbidden’ type romances, but I lose interest if I start to get the vibe that it’s there to titillate rather than get me invested in the characters. Though this goes for any work that could have relationships that are ‘exploitable’. I often feel that in Yuri manga there are girls who are coerced into relationships, or dominated by other girls. It doesn’t sit well with me.

Probably a pleb recommendation, but Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe by Fannie Flagg is a good read. Outside of the lesbian relationship at the focus of the novel, there’s also a lot of themes regarding aging as a woman and inter generational friendship between women.
