I would argue more that the internet has made these "transactions" that happen, more well known and transparent. I don't see this as any different from the 1600's barmaid having sex with the King's guards and getting that information and getting paid for it from a noble rival. If you think Humans have really changed that much in the last 500 years you're a fool.

i wouldn't call MGK a sell out; he was always desperate for fame. why do you think he went from rapper to pop punk once that was starting to get big again. i'm more surprised bad boy records didn't drop him, he only got big once he did that song with camilla cabello, his songs straight up weren't selling, 4 albums of subpar trash, less than a one hit wonder. he was a feature on someone else's hit song. he was mainly known for trying to step up to emenim, Diddy apparently knew something though because album #5 became the biggest one for the record company since the bush administration.
