Now this would be a wee bit unrelated but I watched Porsalin's documentary on Mersh. Mersh begs just as much as DSP and his begging methods are just as slimy, hell in one part of the video Porsalin shows twitter comments about Mersh and one calls him "the DSP of podcasters." Silly redditors, DSP is already the DSP of podcasters duhuhuhuhu.

Now I'm mentioning this because just like we took "paypig" from the findom community to describe Phil's dented whales, the documentary mentions a begging tactic Mersh uses named "grinting" which is a portmanteau of grifting and hinting. In short, Mersh grifts by hinting at his paypigs to pay him money because Mersh had some sort of unexpected surprise behind the scenes expense. Sound familiar? Someone last night asked him if he would ever go back to playing SF competitively. He said no because he would have to practice, and he’s not gonna do that, nuhuhuh.

Got me thinking. When I was younger, there was a really popular game that I was good at, but I had a massive ego about it and thought I was way better than I actually was. I would absolutely shred low/mid-level competition, and sometimes would beat good players (even once performed very well against professional competition, barely lost, nothing I could do ), but most of the time I went up against highly skilled players I would lose handily. My obnoxious teenage ass would always have an excuse. It was laggy. The connection was awful. They abuse bullshit mechanics. The rule sets are unfair. Sound familiar?

Later in life, I found myself playing that game again, but an older me was able to begrudgingly admit that a loss wasn’t due to lag or bullshit, the other guy was just better at the game than me. Instead of complaining, I studied and practiced. I got better, a lot better. I ended up gaining a much deeper understanding and appreciation of the game and the people who play it. I grew to love the game so much more than I previously did. My fondest memories playing game aren’t from my teenage years, but my adult years after I’d grown up.

Unfortunately I’m a mature adult with a business degree, so I couldn’t play 24/7 like I could when I was a teenager, so that saga is over.

A “DSP goes back to SF to play competitive for real” saga is unironically an amazing idea for his “business” even if it means just hiding in the Wakando, streaming himself studying/practicing, and playing online, even if he isn’t any good. Of course he will never do it, as it would force him to confront his massive ego, it would force him to interact with real people, and it would force him to, ya know, do something that resembles actual work.

He could even use the trolls for his own benefit, inviting them to come play with him, reviewing and analyze the matches on stream, learning from them, etc. He could even market it as something gay like “DSP trains to fight the world” or “Trolls Under the Bridge” and milk that shit for cash he desperately needs for Gin and jpegs.

An amazing idea submitted by an actual fan, just for DSP to shit on him because he’s too exceptional to see the obvious brilliance of it.

TLDR DSP should unironically go back to tryharding at SF

What he fails to realize is that even if he fully converts to drama content. That's a very low ceiling in itself for him. Everyone who is somewhat successful on Youtube and started with exclusive DSP bullshit? Had to move on. He literally has nothing else to talk about. His insights are the most basic shit a 9 year old could come up with and since he never leaves the house he has nothing to tell really.
