Just curious about people worldwide, are you noticing Ukraine-Russia stories in the news lately or have they mysteriously dried up like they have over here. You get like a ten second snippet of Zelensky waving or some shit or "oh another rocket attack" but gone are the days of taking up half the news broadcast with "Please, donate everything you can to help poor defenceless Ukrainians from being raped to death by Russian Nazis"

I do not know about it, but I laughed wildly when some old morons with a serious face said that Ukraine won in Azovstal because the Russians had to sit and watch them rot for 2 months. And then I realized that these idiots occupy quite important roles in society, and then I got a bit scared.

People have short memories and shorter attention spans.
They're also going to give less of a shit about Ukraine as the economy collapses.
They can't sperg about Ukraine this summer when gas prices reach $6/gallon, infant formula is in scarce supply, and it's going to be yet another absurdly hot summer. Skyrocketing energy prices and the southwest drought will combine to cause rolling blackouts during heatwaves, which are an absolute nightmare. There will almost certainly be a crime wave due to hyperinflation and gas prices making it so many wagecucks can't afford to drive to work. It's not just going to be Ukraine; it could lead to a pause in BLM and troon shit too. Roe will probably be overturned, sparking an unnecessary culture war in all of this. Oh and COVID is still out there, so COVID sperging is part of the news cycle again.

TLDR recessions make people stop caring about shit that doesn't directly affect them.

The issue is that modern technology usually involves supplies. The whole reason we knew Azovstal was just a matter of time was precisely because it was impossible to resupply the UAF stuck there. One thing was certain - they weren't going to Mujahideen their way out of there.
Meanwhile, the Soviets made use of pretty brutal counter-insurgency tactics in Afghanistan, and still the brown people in sandals with AKs were able to keep them playing the whack-a-mole of deploying troops to an area, seize it, eventually leave and allow the insurgency to return.

Yes, actually. There's still reports here and there but it's been drowned out by other shit, which I am personally thankful for because the media spent months sucking Zelenskys dick, including every time he met with one of our ministers to the point where it became ridiculous and murdered any chance of nuance.

Nowadays the media doesn't care anymore it seems.

Edit: On second thought, I think it may also have been because of our government talking about/offering monetary compensation for anyone willing to house Ukranian refugees, which put a bad taste in a lot of people's mouths

Honestly I'm actually amazed at how many bodies Zelensky is willing to throw at Russian bullets in order to save his own hide. He's already burned through most of the Western cosplayers, the Ukrainian army, the bulk of Azov and a significant amount of civilians, now he wants the Polish to die in a carpet bombing too?

People are definitely losing interest. It’s still omnipresent on the news but it’s mostly economical speculation and debates. Social media users are definitely tired tho.

And he should've done; with the full knowledge that if he bailed, no matter where he went, at some point he'd eat a polonium sandwich or accidentally kill himself?

And that somehow Zelensky is forcing unwilling Ukrainians to fight & die in a senseless war; yet a murderous dictator like Saddam somehow couldn't get the majority of his population to fight against a righteous invasion, even with the help of Russian/Iranian funding/arms, plus every other jihadi-run state & volunteer muj not already fighting in Afghanistan or Gaza?

The best part of all of this is that Russia has been throwing Ukrainian bodies at Ukrainian bullets for 8 years, and now they're sending people who are not ethnically Russian but minorities from the impoverished regions of the federation to die. Almost no Muscovites dying to protect the ethnic Russians in Ukraine. It's the Buryats and Dagestanis.

But sure, it's Zelensky who's throwing bodies to save his own hide.
