I don't think Dave has ever given away anything to his fans that wasn't literal garbage. Like a couple "giveaways" he did of game cases, no game discs cause he sold those at gamestop.

If Phil gets five gifted subs, that's Phil getting about $25.
If Phil gives five gifted subs away, not only is he handing out $25, but he's also not GETTING that $25, since as we know by the beggar corollary he is already entitled to that money. So really, it's like he's losing $50.
