President Joe Biden on Tuesday said that the United States will impose sanctions “far beyond” the ones that the United States imposed in 2014 following the annexation of the Crimean peninsula.

“This is the beginning of a Russian invasion of Ukraine,” Biden said in a White House speech, signaling a shift in his administration’s position. “We will continue to escalate sanctions if Russia escalates,” he added.

Russian elites and their family members will also soon face sanctions, Biden said, adding that “Russia will pay an even steeper price” if Moscow decides to push forward into Ukraine. Two Russian banks and Russian sovereign debt will also be sanctioned, he said.

Also in his speech, Biden said he would send more U.S. troops to the Baltic states as a defensive measure to strengthen NATO’s position in the area.

Russia shares a border with Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.

A day earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered troops to go into the separatist Donetsk and Lugansk regions in eastern Ukraine after a lengthy speech in which he recognized the two regions’ independence.

Western powers decried the move and began to slap sanctions on certain Russian individuals, while Germany announced it would halt plans to go ahead with the Russia-to-Germany Nord Stream 2 pipeline.

At home, Biden is facing bipartisan pressure to take more extensive actions against Russia following Putin’s decision. However, a recent poll showed that a majority of Americans believe that sending troops to Ukraine is a “bad idea,” and a slim minority believes it’s a good one.

All 27 European Union countries unanimously agreed on an initial list of sanctions targeting Russian authorities, said French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, and EU foreign affairs head Josep Borell claimed the package “will hurt Russia … a lot.”

Earlier Tuesday, Borell asserted that Russian troops have already entered the Donbas region, which comprises Donetsk and Lugansk, which are under the control of pro-Russia groups since 2014.

And on Tuesday, the Russian Parliament approved a Putin-back plan to use military force outside of Russia’s borders as Putin further said that Russia confirmed it would recognize the expanded borders of Lugansk and Donetsk.

“We recognized the states,” the Russian president said. “That means we recognized all of their fundamental documents, including the constitution, where it is written that their [borders] are the territories at the time the two regions were part of Ukraine.”

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Putin said that Ukraine is “not interested in peaceful solutions” and that “every day, they are amassing troops in the Donbas.”

Meanwhile, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday morning again downplayed the prospect of a Russian invasion and proclaimed: “There will be no war.”

“There will not be an all-out war against Ukraine, and there will not be a broad escalation from Russia. If there is, then we will put Ukraine on a war footing,” he said in a televised address.

The White House began to signal that they would shift their own position on whether it’s the start of an invasion.

“We think this is, yes, the beginning of an invasion, Russia’s latest invasion into Ukraine,” said Jon Finer, the White House deputy national security adviser in public remarks. “An invasion is an invasion and that is what is underway.”

For weeks, Western governments have been claiming Moscow would invade its neighbor after Russia gathered some 150,000 troops along the countries’ borders. They alleged that the Kremlin would attempt to come up with a pretext to attack, while some officials on Monday said Putin’s speech recognizing the two regions was just that.

But Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin told reporters Tuesday that Russia’s “latest invasion” of Ukraine is threatening stability in the region, but he asserted that Putin can “still avoid a full blown, tragic war of choice.”

It's not the 60's anymore, lol. Go find a single "made in the US" component in your computer or phone. America can sink into the ocean right now and China will keep pumping out iPhones and Dell laptops like nothing happened. All your hardware is Chinese, your software is Indian. The only thing made in the West is maybe the logo, which was designed by some fag in California.

What does the west export now except for fags and weapons?
dude Russia is still using 32 bit microprocessors who are you to talk vatnigger? Your country is stuck in the cold war in terms of both technology and doctrine. How many times are you gonna keep falling back on the gay thing btw, because I really don't think that's a road that you want to go down

There's manufacturing and then there's R&D. Manufacturing can be moved on demand (albeit costly, but possible), can't say the same regarding the latter. Chinks don't invent shit - they copy, poorly.
And hey, same argument vatniks use to cope, people in US could use the extra labor opportunities.

People flee to US/Europe for a better life, not China on Russia. That's where all the brains are, and that's my point.

So what will happen if the quality of life in US/Europe goes down?
Broke in the West is middle class in Russia. Welfare niggers in US enjoy better lives than many hardworking Russians.
If you think that their standard of living is going to fall below that of Russia in the foreseeable future, you're delusional.

That aside, Russia demonstrably shits on human rights, but the West is at least trying, struggle as they may. Freedom is harder to deal with than just falling in line with the rest of zombies.

global quality of life goes down and people will still flee to the US and Europe because it will still have the best quality of life LMAO. This nigga really lives in his own little world if he thinks our quality of life will drop beneath Russia's and there will be a refugee crisis of westerners moving to their despotic oriental shitholes

So you truly, honestly believe that there is no way the quality of life in the US and in Europe will drop below the quality of life of any other nations in the world?

yes, there is no way that a post soviet wasteland like Russia or China (which now only barely ranks above north korea on the global freedom index and locks their citizens in their houses to enforce their autistic "zero covid" policy) will EVER have a quality of life above that of any western country. The era of multipolarity is never going to happen, even if the west declines to it's lowest point in recent history (which is basically has already) we are still lightyears ahead of the east in terms of quality of life and technological development. Regurgitating talking points about the gay west that you heard on Rossiya channel 1 won't change this LMAO. Everything that China "invents" is a copy of something that we were experimenting with 20+ years ago, this is a country that is too scared to export their supposedly "superior" 5.8x42 proprietary ammo for other countries to test with because it's just so good that the western imperialist pigdogs will have their brains explode if they get ahold of it.

Talking about Russia specifically, which you put on a pedestal. Not going to speculate any further.

If their MRE's is anything to judge by, I wouldn't want to be anywhere near that ammo.

If vatniggers were at all historically literate (they aren't) they would know that European powers largely relinquished their empires because it started to become more costly to maintain the colonies than to leave them to their own devices. France still maintains close ties with their former colonies and has military occupations going all throughout the Maghreb. Posting low effort memes about the fall of western empires doesn't change the fact that the east is stagnant and will never progress beyond being the world's factory and copying shit that everyone else made 2 decades ago, and it DEFINITELY won't un-collapse the USSR

Works just fine on NATO-trained troops. Now 6.8 NGSW is a whole different pile of shit gimmick ammo.

Lol, France got their shit pushed in by Wagner in Mali, not a good example. Also they did not relinquish their colonies, they got kicked out of there by the locals. Then the locals showed up to their home countries. Can't even tell France from Algeria anymore.

People say russian bots this and russian bots that but living, breathing russians would have issues passing the Turing Test with how much preprogrammed shit they're filled with.
Most of the z-bois here are just self hating contrarian westerners, but this is homo sovieticus at its finest. A lower life form that has evolved to survive purely on copium and duginist fantasy.

Literally where vatnigger? The last time China fought a war was with Vietnam, they got their asses handed to them and ended up retreating after getting only 30 miles into Vietnamese territory. If this is the extent of the might of the PLA then Taiwan has absolutely nothing to worry about

Oh and for the record, we're not scared to export 6.8x51, the same cannot be said for the chinkshit black smoke cartridges

Not gonna mention that time US annihilated Wagner cunts in Syria?

is this the same Wagner that got nuked into the dirt after they attacked US troops in Syria, failed to help Haftar and his goons in the tripoli offensive, and then resorted to booby trapping kids toys to kill as many libyan children as possible?

this isn't set in stone
countries like japan, south korea, taiwan are pretty much on par with westerners in terms of innovation and development
ironically, those are also the ones that adopted western economic systems, while the ones that adopted the soviet russian system instead are now nightmarish hellholes (north korea)

Again, hybrid case 6.8 is garbage gimmick ammo, it's more susceptible to moisture and temperature changes than normal brass, and won't last as long in bad environments. And retooling your whole logistics chain for new rounds/rifles in the middle of this shitshow is a fucking retarded move. Chinese can just add some extra cardboard to their armor plates and make LVL IV+ plates that defeat 6.8 like nothing, then flood the market with them, all while you are still struggling to get a first batch of rifles to your troops.

Same Wagner that liberated Mariupol and Mali, yes.

source: dude trust me
Same Wagner that liberated Mariupol
lol remember when you vatniggers were saying that Russia was gonna blitzkrieg Kiev in 3 days? Now taking 3 whole months to capture Mariupol is some kind of impressive feat. Tell me how long it took the US to take Fallujah and Baghdad again?
and Mali, yes.
good guy wagner group giving military and logistical support to cells of Al Qaeda and ISIS, they're definitely the liberators though trust the plan! -Z
