Crime Gunman at a Texas elementary school kills 19 students and two adults before being fatally shot, officials say - yeehaw

(CNN)A suspect is in custody after a shooting incident at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, left at least two dead and injured 14 people, including students, authorities said.

The Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District (UCISD) posted about an "active shooter" at Robb Elementary at 12:17 p.m. local time and said law enforcement was on site.

The suspect was taken into custody as of 1:06 p.m. local time, according to the Uvalde Police Department.
Two have died after the shooting at Robb Elementary School, a spokesperson from Uvalde Memorial Hospital told CNN.

The hospital received 13 children at their facility who were being treated for varying injuries, he said. Two children were transported to San Antonio and another is pending transfer, Tom Nordwick said.

Additionally, two patients were dead on arrival, he said. Nordwick was not sure of the ages of the two deceased. A man in his 40s was also being treated there, he said.

Nordwick did not have conditions on any of the victims.

This is a developing story and will be updated.

As I have stated many times if you want to try and end gun violence go ahead with a repeal of the 2nd Amendment.

I completely accept that Australia reduced gun crime slightly by regulating guns to a point where self defense is not a good reason to own a gun.

Love guns or hate them, the public will is not there to take the steps necessary.
Restricting guns is like treating the flu with cough drops. The root cause is a lack of access to mental health treatment, and lack of widespread identification and monitoring of mentally unstable people. It is so hard to actually find a qualified psychologist with slots open, let alone at a reasonable price (insurance almost never covers psych. treatment). America is in the midst of a mental health epidemic and there simply aren't enough doctors to diagnose, prioritize and treat everyone.

Does crazy need a reason? It could be something as dumb as "she wouldn't buy me a new phone". People who shoot up schools aren't simply troubled/depressed people. They're fucking psychotic.
Yup. People some that other people are as adequately smart, rationally enough thinking as they are but clearly any piece of shit capable of doing something like this for ANY reason or NO reason at all simply isn’t wired the same way

Not to sound like I am defending democrats' hypocrisies, because I'm not. Nor to imply that your take is wrong, because it isn't. Or to imply the following applies to you... unless it does.

It always fascinates me when people want to supposedly have a "genuine conversation" about these situations without wanting to discuss an important factor of the event: we have the victims, we have the murderer(s), and included in that are the means by which the murders took place. People can cover their eyes and ears, about this but the simple fact is that the tools by which these events are capable of occuing in the first place are weapons. Not saying ban all weapons, or give weapons to everybody, what I am saying is that when somebody says that bringing up guns in a discussion about a mass shooting is some kind of faux pas, well... I think that just shows me what type (cause there are many stripes) of faggot I'm dealing with.
Until we have a motive, which will likely be buried, it'll be speculation as to why he shot his grandma and a bunch of kids. It's going to be more than 'mental illness'. Methinks he's tying that line between Dylann Roof and and Elliot Rodger.
56%, he looks like a fucking mix of a bitch and that Youtube shooter.
Richard Ramirez and Elliot Rodger.

I agree. I think culture is overlooked, guns are a big part of American culture and from an outsiders perspective it seems a irremovable part of the culture. Guns in Australia sort of too, but only for pig farmers and heroin dealers, not for everyone.
Guns have been part of American culture since the beginning. Hell, my wife was born and raised in a rural area and she was given a .22 carbine to go hunting vermin with (with her older brothers' supervision). It was actually much easier to get guns in the past, and yet we didn't have nearly the same amount of school shootings and family slayings. Guns are and have always been a constant, school shootings have not, and you can't use a constant to explain a variable.

Call me insane, but I think something might be causing/fostering mental illness. And it ain't the guns.

He should just do that the MOMENT stories like this pop up.
Isn't that what he already did? I mean, aside from Internet exiles, who else could be stopped at the gate?
Bodies have not even been identified, and already we're doing this shit.
You know what they say: "Never let a crisis go to waste.
