Crime Gunman at a Texas elementary school kills 19 students and two adults before being fatally shot, officials say - yeehaw

(CNN)A suspect is in custody after a shooting incident at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, left at least two dead and injured 14 people, including students, authorities said.

The Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District (UCISD) posted about an "active shooter" at Robb Elementary at 12:17 p.m. local time and said law enforcement was on site.

The suspect was taken into custody as of 1:06 p.m. local time, according to the Uvalde Police Department.
Two have died after the shooting at Robb Elementary School, a spokesperson from Uvalde Memorial Hospital told CNN.

The hospital received 13 children at their facility who were being treated for varying injuries, he said. Two children were transported to San Antonio and another is pending transfer, Tom Nordwick said.

Additionally, two patients were dead on arrival, he said. Nordwick was not sure of the ages of the two deceased. A man in his 40s was also being treated there, he said.

Nordwick did not have conditions on any of the victims.

This is a developing story and will be updated.

Look, I’m not saying that everything glows, but I understand why people would have conspiracy theories more and more lately.
What do you mean? Of course it's MERE COINCIDENCE that after several years of near silence, we suddenly get several extremely high profile, extremely shocking mass shootings all at the exact same time, and all right in the middle of primaries.

I agree. In Australia we find the state of affairs regarding guns to be unbelievable, but it really is not part of our culture to own guns for self-defence and we never had 3 guns for every person or however it works out. For example, there have been 3 gun murders in as many weeks recently in Sydney, connected to Middle-Eastern gangs, and the media and police have gone insane over it. People being shot in the streets over drugs (even 1 or 2 in a year), is seen as a huge deal and not acceptable. But yeah, Americans love their guns and consider it a right, fair enough. I would too if I was an American I'm sure.

Logistically, disarming even a willful American populace would be a nightmare. Unwillful? Good luck.

Anyway, living in rural areas, guns are important for “backyard” defense against bears and other predatory wildlife. And when the nearest police station is down a mountain & connection is spotty, you might want a gun to keep the community meth head off your property….

And that’s not to mention dogs. Shredded, territorial pit bulls that fat white trash hoes adopt and then let loose in the mountains. Yes, I will kill your fucking dog bitch.

Plus, hunting is popular. Collecting big guns & popping them off is popular hobby. Etc

And most women who have been in real abusive relationships or actually assaulted by homeless men, now carry guns. Guns level the playing field a bit for women.

To the VAST, vast majority of Americans, guns aren’t tools for killing. They’re tools for self sufficiency & self reliance. So, the government taking away a constitutional right to self reliance is a big no.

Anyway, will this ever move to happenings or are we bored of mass shootings this week? I wanna know more about the guy & his granny

Fair point. I really meant no disrespect to Mexico in particular, I was honestly a little bit mad at the Internet. People will go through all kinds of mental gymnastics to beg Daddy government to take their rights away and fix their problems. We all know that gun laws have zero impact on shootings, considering how many people are shot in places with very restrictive laws.
Fair, i can guarantee you that everyone here is aware that our government is so rotten to the core with corruption, some just don't want to admit it or live in denial, waking up to news about trashbags with bodies being found on sideways or armed commandos shooting up bars or parties being played on your morning tv show is something that has stopped being shocking and started being expected.

Also, remember that time when the military captured el chapo's son and his goons had a whole town as hostages until he was released? sad.

Considering there's a lot of back and forth on this topic, and the last shooting; I do have one question. What do you guys think is a reasonable approach from a legislation standpoint, to stop this kind of shit?

It's pretty clear at this point that schools and shopping centers are being targeted due to low (if any at all) security/threat level. I know the left will freak out at mention of this, but I honestly don't see how anyone can argue about teachers being trained with sidearm and being able to conceal/carry. It could be on a volunteer basis, and to be blunt; all its going to take is one would be shooter getting popped in the fucking head by the gym teacher for them (the left) to shut the fuck up about it. Nobody would be forced to carry, it could be an entirely volunteer program. For those that volunteer, training could be issued by the schools police liason or a state run program by the state troopers. At this point, something has to be done.

Unless you're leaning towards this being a glowop, I can't argue with you. I'm not saying you're right or wrong; just that you can't argue solutions to a conspiracy barring no damning evidence is presented. It's just conjecture at this point in time.

Where did he get these guns? They’re pretty expensive and I’d be surprised if he bought them from some gangbanger. Or am I naive?
Back in the day, my Montana high school had a hunting club, a sharp-shooting/target shooting team and an armed ROTC.
He bought two assault rifles on his 18th birthday. I assume legally since the legal age to purchase rifles is 18 as far as i know

Beslan, 2004, 333 dead. They used bombs as well, but that's not cheating, Eric and Dylan established the precedent. (Bath 1927 doesn't count, it was solely a bombing, not a shooting with bombs.)

I seem to remember a summer camp shooting--not a school but close enough--in Norway that killed 77 people.

Russians and Europeans still much more efficient at snuffing out human life than mutts.
Didn't the Bath County guy drive up to first responders fire a few rounds of a shotgun off and blow his car up?

"The founders believed that the government exists to perform only those services that the people cannot provide for themselves, such as the national defense. Local and state government powers were also to be limited and enumerated with the people self-governing in all other areas."

I highly disagree that people need legislation to address a lone shooter event. That would be allowing the minority to cast the vote for the majority.

You can’t ban guns, you can only ban self defense guns. Seriously though, if you ever lived in the actual ‘hood’ or a cesspool of crime (which you can tell who hasn’t) you would want a gun. Only thing gun laws do is force a person to choose between risking government force or being a stat on the nightly news. Foh.

The same government spewing altruistic rhetoric about gun control for ‘your safety’— arms and funds terrorists and cartels ffs.

The myth that prohibition doesn't work strikes again.

the debates from these shootings are just tiresome at this point. it's always gun control this and not enough background checks are done (never mind 18.5 million checks were conducted towards sales last year). like fuck you if you want to talk about why in recent decades more and more people are shooting up people in everyday places like schools and what's causing them to get so mentally fucked in their heads to this point. this country truly is hell and its people show it.
Yeah, every time there's a mass shooting it always seems like the only discussion is ever directed towards gun control and background checks. But the country's gun culture and obviously mental health issues that have skyrocketed in recent decades should be looked at as well.

Also, I saw an article (though not an official news source) that stated the shooter was a tranny or transitioning? I think that might explain a lot tbh... EDIT: Okay I'm looking at other threads and doing further searching and it looks like it might not be him. Nvm then.

Maybe. Like America's cultural malaise churning out psychos. never said guns are 100% to blame
Unfortunately, we can’t really admit to ourselves that there’s a non-rational, non-scientific reason for cultural malaise. Americans follow technological orders more than they do orders from people (cf Wang Huning’s America against America).
