Crime Gunman at a Texas elementary school kills 19 students and two adults before being fatally shot, officials say - yeehaw

(CNN)A suspect is in custody after a shooting incident at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, left at least two dead and injured 14 people, including students, authorities said.

The Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District (UCISD) posted about an "active shooter" at Robb Elementary at 12:17 p.m. local time and said law enforcement was on site.

The suspect was taken into custody as of 1:06 p.m. local time, according to the Uvalde Police Department.
Two have died after the shooting at Robb Elementary School, a spokesperson from Uvalde Memorial Hospital told CNN.

The hospital received 13 children at their facility who were being treated for varying injuries, he said. Two children were transported to San Antonio and another is pending transfer, Tom Nordwick said.

Additionally, two patients were dead on arrival, he said. Nordwick was not sure of the ages of the two deceased. A man in his 40s was also being treated there, he said.

Nordwick did not have conditions on any of the victims.

This is a developing story and will be updated.

sad to see this happen though

i’m curious to even know if there is a solution to this problem? do we just keep letting our kids go to school while congress tries to restrict gun laws and hope someone doesn’t do it again? it’s always interesting to see peoples take on it. from mental illness to gun control to all this shit. wonder if there’s a TRUE and HONEST way
Lots of solutions.

But it requires leadership from government.

Wearing a skirt and thigh-high socks isn't exactly a way to show you're mentally stable. The two places are definitely different. There's a window AC unit, which is usually found in older buildings...and the lighting is very institutional. I've never seen lighting like that in a bedroom before. My folks had something like that in the laundry room. I wonder if it's a converted garage or something like that.
The guy was in Uvalde, rural ass Texas. A lot of areas like that are pretty broke at least on one side of town, I could imagine the dude living in a house that's old, shitty, and not well kept up, basically trailer home quality. Linoleum tile in the kitchen, wood paneling in the hallway, original formica countertops from the like 50s or some shit, maybe 1 ceiling fan but more likely the type of place where theyre just constantly running shitty rotary fans all the time in one corner of the room.

The shooter -- identified by Texas officials as Salvador Ramos,

Looks like I lost guess the diversity. Also fuck this guy for what he did, and for those who think this is a uniquely American problem, places like China usually has some lunatic do something similar but with a hatchet or something and they always target elementary schools there as they're using an axe.

He was being chased by police after killing his grandma. That's what i picked up from reading here, someone can correct me if wrong
That makes sense, considering the grandma being killed is true. I'm interested to hear in the coming days, the details of what the hell was going on at home. He clearly had been contemplating this for a while considering he bought the gun day of turning 18. That would make killing grandma premeditated, and not some heated incident.

The part I'm struggling with is if he had these plans to shoot up the school, why did he risk getting caught by killing before hand? It doesn't make any sense, but I guess that's the point.

Most kids spend roughly 35 hours a day at school (and more if they're involved in extracurricular activities), but only 2 or so hours at church. Logically, the probability of a kid being preyed upon by a teacher is going to be much higher.
Common Core claims another victim

Or maybe that process was well underway once we decided it was okay to stick knitting needles into a 7-8 month old fetus as a convenient substitute for birth control.

most people vote the same party consistently in the states its 10% or less who swap
True. But the party they vote for doesn't even actually represent their interests. Democrats are not actually liberal, they hate all those who oppose them. And anyone who believes that the GOP give a shit about being "conservative" is out of their mind. Politicians are a lot like professional athletes. You'll see fans of rival teams ready to literally murder each other, yet the players will sign a contract with whichever team offers them the most money. Democratic voters and Republican voters will literally rat each other out to the feds and not speak to their own flesh and blood, yet we see pictures of Dubya all cozy with Big Momma Michelle. It's all a show. It's all a rouse. None of it is actually real.

So. This person left nothing of a manifesto or anything online?
He just had killed someone and was on the run and decided to just stop by a middle school and merk 18+ children? TF world we in.
He committed Suicide by cop (allegedly) he needed to make sure the cops didn't miss

I'm sorry to tell you this, but that was juvie.
In the USA sure, in my country is called a expensive private school were we guarantee the obscene national levels of violence wont reach your beloved children. As this is obviously a recurring problem over there, the USA has to shed the worry of appearances and do the same.

I sure do love waking up to hear about more senseless violence. It's so nice knowing someone can, at any time, snuff out countless lives, and be turned into a spectacle for more kids to look up to.

Shit like this is why I hate the unjust glorification of murderers. They're all monsters- you cannot take the life of someone else for no reason and still be human.

Like maybe it IS actually a problem with culture and society?
You're half right. The issue can be attributed to antisocial mass media and violent culture. People who say that violent X can't cause violence need to realize that if this was true then advertising would not exist. The content of the media that people consume affects their actions or at least their worldview.

Most people vote in similar patterns to their parents. AS THE IDEOLOGY OF PARTIES CHANGE: People's votes shift. They also tend to vote in similar ways to their neighbors and co-workers on a long enough timeline

Another 18-35 year old male does a heinous crime?

Maybe America should be worried about guns when you have an epidemic of shitty men? Like maybe it IS actually a problem with culture and society? Maybe if you produce enough retards and expose them to enough violent media, eventually this happens?

So maybe, recognizing that a large part of the population is actually retarded, maybe as a consequence it's time to not sell guns openly and easily? Let the remaining rednecks and retards keep their guns but do it like New Zealand with cigarettes and none of the new generation can easily acquire it and if you're a parent of a child of the new generation maybe it's a whole different set of rules because maybe it turns out millennial and zoomers are "special".
Lets assume all guns stop being sold tomorrow in the US. You really think mentally ill people would be unable to get them from somewhere? As long as guns are around, these things will happen because americans allow it.

Plus America is hardly a Catholic country, how many priests vs teachers? Doesn't change the fact that wherever there are catholic priests there are raped suiciding children.

Locking the fucking doors of the building for one thing. Why can someone just walk into an elementary school at anytime? Teachers guide the kids everywhere so the only times the doors need to be open is when kids arrive, when kids go home. Give faculty keys.

Or do what most businesses already do and make doors require a code or buzzer for secretaries to admit entry. This will also take care of bunkers.

The school doors were glass.
I am an NRA member, but this might be the only wiggle room I have for gun control. Boost the age to 20, maybe, because the maturity age of just about everyone born after 1990 is roughly 2-3 years behind their actual age.
I don't think it matters. AR's and other tactical rifles only provide a negligible edge over a pistol in most of these shootings In others the rifle alerts people earlier than a handgun. The only benefit that comes with tactical rifle is when you are being opposed by other armed people. I hate sounding morbid but that sick fucker was shooting fish in a barrel. A handgun and a shotgun could have caused similar casualties.
