2022 Mad at the Internet Patch Sale

I'd like a set of Kiwi Scouts Merit Badges for the deadly sins of lolcowism. Autism Merit Badge, Tranny Merit Badge, Bad Hygiene Merit Badge, Obesity Merit Badge, Crackpot Merit Badge, Sonic Fetishism, Furry, Delusion, Litigiousness, Narcissism, Incest, Infantilism, Munchausen By Proxy, Animal Fucker, School Sharpshooting, etc. It could be an ongoing series and we could all build our own sash of dishonor.

I like this idea, but using the logos from the individual subforums.

I would like to make a proposal to you beautiful, exceptional bastards.

As I'm sure many of you would agree, it doesn't feel right not having a merch run this time of year to support the farms. I was pretty hyped about the patches myself, mostly as it was a novel concept and there was a large variety of good art. This concept tied easily to a project I had been working on already and It gave me some ideas.

I live in an unbearably liberal area and I started making these stones to just leave around town... a little IRL trolling. Some on stickers, some on magnets, some barebacked and left on a coffee counter. Fun stuff. And they worked out great. The design and process produced a pretty solid product. I've mounted them all over outdoors. Basically weatherproof, durable, and has all the pleasing smoothness of a "worry stone" in your pocket. So friends started asking for them, and I started adding new designs (KF designs), and they turned out to be pretty popular. I've actually sent 2 of my original batches to forum users. So based on the feedback I have gotten I decided to see if there would be any interest in my making KF stones to help Null and fill that merch-void you might be feeling.

This is an early prototype batch and the application and sealing processes were not yet dialed-in. I only show this image to give a better idea of the art I have used already. I also used the last 2 years worth of merch run shirt designs, CoronaChan art, and related stuff. If we get a good response I will expand the art. I will use more art from the patch thread (I like acknowledging all the artists in our ranks), and I'm going to pull some iconic cows (CWC, Gunt, Chantal...) to fill out the roster.

I would predict it might go something like this; random mix set of 5 for $25 or 8 for $35. These would come with either a heavy duty magnet on back, a peel-off sticker, or a smooth sealed back. You make a payment directly to Null and contact me, and once Null lets me know he got paid I'd mail them. US Domestic only (USPS). Additionally I would open up the option for fully custom stones and sets for an additional donation upcharge. If this idea gets any legs at all the details could need to be revisited, but this is a start. All would have to get approval from Null of course.

That's about it. Thoughts? Would anyone buy in?

How big are these stones? If they're about 1 inch diameter, then I know you can mount these in various ways to make jewellery. I'm not in the US, but I've seen similar things on cheap jewellery mounts going for far too much in quirky, nerdy, gaming shops and fancy gift shops.

Edit to avoid double post, but the jewellery could be sold as a craft thing, a kit if you like, with all the components to make badges, broaches, necklaces, with leather thong for men.

They're like shiny autistic internet POGs. Adorable.

Might be difficult to get Null on board though. It's one thing to self dox through a secure payment portal to Null directly who only provides that to an insured established businesses, a whole other thing to go through a user on the site. I'm sure there will be people who won't mind but Null probably wont endorse it for that reason.

Dude these are great.

@Null Google a 3PL and let's make some KF rocks to throw at things.

"Email me if you have a 3PL to suggest. Do NOT email me to suggest a company you have never worked with. I have gone to Google, typed in "3pl woocommerce" and contacted every single fucking company for 3 pages. They all have minimum monthly volumes and don't want to do business with someone who's seasonal." (source)

First, "They're like shiny autistic internet POGs." Yes! That's fucking perfect. They absolutely are like shiny autistic internet POGs. Seriously, well put.

I'm not putting myself in the middle of anything. What I'm doing is providing a physical premium as an incentive to get users to directly donate to the forum. Josh provides a number of safe and convenient options. I use them 4-5 times a year. My proposal is that "User A" sends a donation to the Farms, then sends me a message saying they have done so. Now I just need a note from Null confirming he got paid by "User A" ...then I mail the goods.

As to self-doxing, you are correct to recognize that there is level of risk in providing an address for the goods to be mailed to, but in the end, it is a voluntary activity. The spring merch run is a regular income boost that is going to be sorely missed. I'm just trying to help compensate for that loss...
...by enticing the exceptional members of this community with shiny autistic internet POGs, inshallah.
