Crime Gunman at a Texas elementary school kills 19 students and two adults before being fatally shot, officials say - yeehaw

(CNN)A suspect is in custody after a shooting incident at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, left at least two dead and injured 14 people, including students, authorities said.

The Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District (UCISD) posted about an "active shooter" at Robb Elementary at 12:17 p.m. local time and said law enforcement was on site.

The suspect was taken into custody as of 1:06 p.m. local time, according to the Uvalde Police Department.
Two have died after the shooting at Robb Elementary School, a spokesperson from Uvalde Memorial Hospital told CNN.

The hospital received 13 children at their facility who were being treated for varying injuries, he said. Two children were transported to San Antonio and another is pending transfer, Tom Nordwick said.

Additionally, two patients were dead on arrival, he said. Nordwick was not sure of the ages of the two deceased. A man in his 40s was also being treated there, he said.

Nordwick did not have conditions on any of the victims.

Let's not forget this is an ELEMENTARY school. They don't typically have these drills. Those are usually middle and highschool.
They are a joke, however, and it's obvious that teachers should be allowed to conceal carry. If i have to trust that these people are not going to groom and rape my kids, I should be able to trust they won't turn the gun on them either.

This debate always feels intellectually dishonest. The left pretends that it wants 'reasonable gun safety compromises' (it doesn't) that will have a chance to do something (they won't). Yet the right wants to pretend like guns have nothing to do with this violence and it's all just a weird coincidence.

Why can't we all get along? It's simple. When someone says "do you really think your right to own an assault weapon with a 100 clip magazine is more important than children's lives!?!" the answer is "YES."

I feel like the gun issues in major crime filled cities are different from elsewhere and that needs to be taken into consideration. The cities with high volume gun crimes tend to also have quite a bit of collateral damage. If Tyrone is trying to fill Rashawn full of lead he doesn't care how many innocent people get hit by stray bullets. My city has teens being killed in hails of gunfire like it's some action movie. Me being armed isn't going to save me from that. And honestly, I'd be afraid of getting targeted by gangbangers for shooting their homie. I don't have a solution. Ghetto culture is something that has to be considered when you try to tackle gun violence in inner cities. I think that the problems don't have blanket answers because there's a big difference between what drives urban violence as opposed to these horrible mass shootings that are not urban violence related. Urban violence is deeply entwined with generations of hoodrat behaviors, gangbanging and drug related motivations. Have fun trying to fix that mess.


The gun debate's biggest problem is that neither side is willing to budge an inch because they are afraid of losing all their ground. They refuse to listen to each other or have any sort of sensible consideration for each other's needs. It doesn't help that the media and politics keep widening the divide on purpose. So we get these extreme takes like "They're going to take away all out guns!" and "All teachers should be armed".

I wouldn't trust armed teachers to be honest. Not in Clown World. I can just see it now. Armed teacher holed up in transition closet with student threatens murder/suicide. Teacher goes on shooting rampage after being misgendered by parent at PTA meeting. Sounds crazy. But we've seen what's been happening with teachers lately and I feel like the quality control was thrown out in favor of woke hires who don't have all their marbles.
