Kinda retarded to set up foreign branches and then not support them and just hope they don't flounder. They could atleast send KIara a mocap suit and a cheap greenscreen. She already went over how she can't get a visa to work in Japan. This and Irys really isn't painting a good picture for EN considering it's a successful branch and Kiara even has some of the most superchats now Rushia is gone.
Do you honestly believe that its worth opening a 3D studio in a foreign land when you know your talent isn't even in the same area? And honestly how many times will they even use 3D in a month? Thats literally waste of money..

Oh yes corporations should open studios globally to support their international talents. HL should open one in AT, one in AU, US and CA can share one in NA. Niji should also do one in UK and maybe Ike can share that so so they don't need one in SE.

All their talents together bring in multimillions of superchats so there's no way this isn't a sound long term financial investment right guys? Right?

Besides how much can a studio, that would normally cost 5-6 figures for a day to hire, cost to set up and run? VR sets are only several hundred dollars so clearly the corpos are just cheaping out.

While they're at it, the corpos should strong arm YouTube into making a special vtuber department to deal with all their issues. I mean, look at how many viewers and SC they get! That's some leverage surely!

I'm convinced at this point that Red Juice is the one being difficult when it comes to Irys. This has never been a problem with anyone else and it's getting ridiculous.

The worst part is that this is all probably contractual, so its even possible Red Juice is being an asshole and just not letting Cover do anything.

Regarding the topic of a hypothetical US studio, I have to say that I have always doubt it's feasibility from the start.

Besides the "not everyone lives in NA" reasoning, there is also the fact that said studio will remain unused 95% of the time. Assuming that each talent do an average of two to three 3D streams per year, we are looking at a month worth of use per year. Are we also expecting Cover to hire temporary staffs to man the studio every time a talent wants to do a 3D stream?

Just give her the Azki treatment at this point. I don't think many ppl would be too attached to her original weird model

Wow would you look at that, Vsjoujo has 3D models. I have no idea how they run things but I doubt they have a 6 figure/day studio, they most likely set that shit up in an empty room.

Actually reading this was pretty surprising given how big Lyrica was in the Philippines but at the same time, it's plausible considering filipinos are massive cheapskates and donating was only for those really desperate enough for attention (or those with expendable income which is rare because 3rd world something something)

But, semi-related, this also got me looking back on her growth as Lyrica and thought to give a little bit more insight on how big Lyrica actually was here despite the lack of superchat earnings:

The filipino vtuber community was really small during 2020 and the only prominent vtuber in the country was Kaheru and she'd already been in the game since 2016. Lyrica really stood out in the community after she debuted because she was the first filipino vtuber to break into the mainstream with her collabs with ID during the time Hololive coincidentally were going through their initial boom in popularity, making it an even bigger deal to the local community, and she did this only a month after she debuted. She also did a bunch of streams that haven't really been done here before so that also boosted her by a lot. Later on, she (comparably) wasn't a small creator either. She had about 70,000 subs a month before her 1st anniversary which is was actually way more than what Mint (Pomu) and Nova (Elira) had combined despite debuting roughly around the same time as each other.

My quibble regarding her time as Lyrica was always my impression that she garnered herself an active/vocal community and then proceeded to live in her Discord server and stagnate her brand as she continued to cater her content specifically to a cheap Filipino audience when she clearly had the talent and genki personality to appeal to a broader, mainstream EN audience at the time when there was peak interest in vtubing during the lockdown.

Discussing this now in retrospect all seems moot given where she ended up in NijiEN as Millie but at the time, the main gripe about her as Lyrica has always been that she has all this talent/creativity to be more successful than she is at the moment yet she's not maximizing her potential by having a terribly inconsistent streaming schedule split between Twitch, Youtube and Facebook (on top of her still maintaining a 9-5 job at the time). She got overtaken by Mint and Nova because she got so comfy with her community that she didn't even bother to apply to either of HoloEN2 or the earlier Niji waves despite being a strong candidate for either (and despite being urged by her own community to apply) - and TBH, I think the only reason she bothered to apply to Niji was because both her friends got in and actually pestered her to get off her ass and join them.

Also wanted to add just because:
As for the facebook gaming thing actually, in a weird way, Facebook Gaming is/was actually a really popular streaming platform in the PH at the time so it's not really out of the ordinary for Lyrica to be on there when every other content creator/filipino vtuber was also on there doing streams and making personal accounts to interact with people with as kind of a "trend" almost. The Philippines does have the 5th highest number of active facebook users in the world compared to Youtube and Twitch (where it doesn't even break top 10).

Facebook Gaming at the time was riddled with scantily-clad Pinay e-thots flashing cleavage while playing either League or some form of gacha. It was a terrible strategy as a vtuber to try and grow her brand/name there given the built-in autism of its audience. You appreciate the hustle, but the massive vtuber audience with the cash to burn on SCs was clearly on Youtube at the time - which is where my quibble about her being too fixated on a Filipino audience and hopping on Filipino trends stemmed from.

But like I said, this is all moot anyway. Lola is in NijiEN now. Which curiously, is when most of my interest in her ended. Like "Good. The bitch finally wisened up and made it. Best of luck to her."

It is possible she asked for changes to her base design. Though, if that were the case, I'd think she would not be as impatient about it.

Also, they have replaced character designers in the past if it didn't work out, so it is not a ridiculous notion. It could also very easily be an issue on Cover's side too. Whether it be rigging or management. It isn't just her outfits, afterall, but her 3D, as well, which wouldn't have anything to do witb REDJUICE.

All I know is, Cover is really letting her and her fans down hard.

As for the discussion about international offices, I mean, they could do it. Put it in a central location to where at least most talents are a short domestic flight away. It would at least be cheaper than renting a whole studio every once in a while, apparently. I don't see what is ridiculous about it. Sure, it wouldn't be cheap, but at least as they get bigger, it will allow them to do more stuff with international talents.

Salome is crazy powerful and seems to have blindsided the Japanese audience. Verbal tic aside, which I'm sure will filter some, she is incredible at engaging the audience and comes out with unhinged comments out of nowhere. She has maintained a 92% viewer retention (84K peak) from her debut over a day ago — which I think is the highest I've ever seen.

No doubt that will diminish as viewers stabilise, but holy shit she has come in like a fucking nuke.

Just had this clip recommended to me and got curious, what was Bobon's PL?
I'd assume it was someone in e-sports/the fps community possibly if he knows Sonny but I can't seem to find any info on who.
He mentioned previously being in a regional CSGO team which MAY have brought him into contact with someone from the TF2 scene.

I think they probably just met by chance though given the Indo/Australian server pool being the same. It's the same as how Selen knows all the OWL pros and Overwatch content creators through Ranked voice chat.

Yes? So do all of Myth? Was there some sort of VS live concert I missed or something? I know they've had pre-recorded 3D appearances in at least 1 big show and Nyanners herself toured(physically) with Ai-chan. If your point is that Kiara should halfass a concert with her home equipment in VRC then sure, she could. She's already done dance lessons with her low poly model so switching it for her home3D is easy enough if her PC can render it. If she wants a concert that meets the baseline expectations people have of HL concerts, then that's another story entirely.

Ok, that was funny.
