What is wrong with him? He is not smart, or even half intelligent, but he is not actually retarded or autistic or something like that. He really does seem to have a lack of a sense of self preservation and a terribly delicate ego which needs massaging.

One, he's an idiot (too dumb to know better). Two, he's white trash (prone to arrogance, aggression and fragile ego). Three, he's a modern American, and like much of the western world the self preservation instinct has been slowly bred out of Americans over the past few decades (neutered fight-or-flight response).

I like to think that most obnoxious, destructive, aggressive or otherwise undesirable behavior can generally be corrected with an adequately administered beating or two (recently someone in another thread pointed out that autism is an entirely "affluent" problem because they can afford professional "help" with it, while poorer parents just beat their kids until they learn not to misbehave), but then comes Ralph to blow a big pig-shaped hole through that theory. I don't think his behavior will change no matter how often (or hard) he catches a beating. It'll be fun to watch an ever-growing mob of contenders continue trying anyway though!
