Oh, rereading what you wrote, Russ says he didn't want AGT to be able to say he sued to get on the show. Let's say for a minute the judge did order those big meanies to let him on, wouldn't restraining them from saying they were forced to let him against their will be a violation of the First Amendment? So he is aware of how it would be received if he went on the show and they plastered a big disclaimer (hah, he loves those) that said don't blame us, a judge made us let him on.

Optimistic possibility: the court is aiming to create a record that essentially says "Look we enabled the Village Idiot and hand-held them as much as (and maybe beyond) what was legally allowed. Despite this their best argument is woefully impotent (like the complainant)." Then it makes labeling Russ a vexatious litigant more strongly supported. I would imagine getting to kick back and watch Russ ask for metaphorical rope while hastily assembling a scaffold is cathartic for someone with a life as stressful as a judge's.

I've wondered sometimes if he really thinks these women are constantly jetting around the world to meet up with random dumbasses who follow them on Twitter or whatever.
