So Darrick posted a teaser for his next Cha'alt adventure of a map he is working on
Also, he posted something on Your Dungeon is Racist, again, not even trying to be satire, but it is even worse, it is BARELY related to ttrpgs. It is literally just a political post someone he doesn't like made. Seriously, this isn't even a satire blog anymore, it devolved into shitty memes and now it isn't even shitty memes, just a screencap of a post not even related to ttrpgs or anything.

If you do the math on Tarnowski's products, his claims of gettiing rich from his games just don't add up. He has a single Platinum seller (1000-1999 units) on drivethrurpg. It took 10 years for it to sell that many units, and if we assume the (unlikely) most favorable scenario for him, i.e, all print hardcover sales and one unit shy of the next highest level, that's just under 50 grand - over ten years. His 2nd newest product, again generously assuming the highest possible sales of the most expensive version (print hardcover plus PDF), has, at the most, brought in $35 grand in the last year, and probably far less than that. Drivethru gets a cut, and so does his publisher. Most of his products are $3 PDFs. He has a few Gold and Silver sellers, some of which have also been up for years. I'm not seeing the kind of money he claims to make. Sure, his products are available elsewhere (Amazon and lulu, for example), but drivethru is the most popular and visible source of sales for most small creators, and I'm already vastly overestimating his sales there to make my point. In reality, he probably sells far more PDF than print, and is not on the precipice of the next highest sales level on all of these products. It's probably safe to say that his sales figures are closer to 50-60 percent of the best cases I'm supposing here, and hell, that may even be too generous. His Patreon has 10 pigs, and brings in less than $100/mo. There is more to credibly indicate that he isn't, and never has, made the kind of money he claims, but I'm saving it for his thread.
Uruguay is around the top 25% of Latin American countries for (highest) cost of living, and the top 40% globally. I don't see any evidence that his Swami Salami Baloney paypigs bring in a lot of scratch, either.
They key to understanding John Tarnowski is to realize that most of what he says is bullshit, stemming from his jealousy of better and more successful creators, and his need to look important.

You can't think western values when you see COL calculators because of the extreme wealth gap. You know how in your nearest city you have Condos going for like $100,000-200,000 while $50,000 gets you a ranch on a quarter acre 10 miles from downtown, but that's pretty much the floor? You need to imagine a lower tier of like $10,000 for a converted garage, and then like $1,000 for a concrete slab where you park a busted RV; then imagine that cost being split by an entire family of 16 because papists breed like vermin.
So that high COL for third-world countries, that high end assumes you are living an urban core closet-with-a-view bugman lifestyle. It barely factors in their fly-over and doesn't even attempt to compute lifestyles below that.

And here is Darrick showing a picture of him as a kid. He mentioned in the video where his son walked in that he looked a lot like him as a kid and I can kind of see the resemblance. He was a cute kid filled with so much potential too bad the weed damaged his brain. Infact, we don't know much about Darrick's upbringing and why he became the way he was or what his parents were like unlike a lot of other lolcows like Chris, what I do know was that he was an only child which might have a reason why he had so many kids and only children often run the risk of being spoiled, but not always. I wouldn't be surprised if his parents let TV and/or video games raise him though, but that is not confirmed. I think a couple years back he showed a picture of him and his dad on his dad's 80th birthday, but that is about it.

Edit: I also found where Darrick might be also getting his money it said his parents "with the help of their son Darrick" built a new apartment in 2003. So be basically used mommy and daddy to get some passive income in addition to mommy wife.
