Crime Gunman at a Texas elementary school kills 19 students and two adults before being fatally shot, officials say - yeehaw

(CNN)A suspect is in custody after a shooting incident at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, left at least two dead and injured 14 people, including students, authorities said.

The Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District (UCISD) posted about an "active shooter" at Robb Elementary at 12:17 p.m. local time and said law enforcement was on site.

The suspect was taken into custody as of 1:06 p.m. local time, according to the Uvalde Police Department.
Two have died after the shooting at Robb Elementary School, a spokesperson from Uvalde Memorial Hospital told CNN.

The hospital received 13 children at their facility who were being treated for varying injuries, he said. Two children were transported to San Antonio and another is pending transfer, Tom Nordwick said.

Additionally, two patients were dead on arrival, he said. Nordwick was not sure of the ages of the two deceased. A man in his 40s was also being treated there, he said.

Nordwick did not have conditions on any of the victims.

It's hard to even tell what went through that dipshits head. Might've been thinking he could use them as leverage to get out, ended up losing control and shooting a kid or teacher and then realized he'd then get the needle no matter the outcome. Might've been fucking psychotic and just hated that particular school and the concept of youth. That sort of stuff will take time to parse through but my issue is that anything we get will be ripped and manipulated for either or both sides.

Personally I'd rather get to the bottom of it. The dad supposedly said the kid was pissed off about mask mandates and got depersonalized during lockdowns, for example - something that makes sense and that has legitimately been seen happening - but at the same time it bears asking how much lockdowns actually impacted this kid in a Texas suburb, how many mandates did they actually face?

I had to look this person with such midwit takes and read she is a former high school civics teacher (which school and when is hard to find) who taught in Duluth MN a city that is 80% white according to the most recent census but which also has had an increasing crime rate for the past several years, and while she taught there this doesn't mean she lived there, and probably lived in a suburb as most teachers who teach in high crime areas do. Apparently at one point, law enforcement, while not having visual contact with the suspect but while the suspect was still firing shots, instructed the kids to call out to cops. One of the kids is said to have done so and then been executed by the gunman.

Again, I'm not an expert and my knowledge of cop procedure is a blend of movies, vidya and mildly autistic reading about such shit, but I'm pretty sure it's both common sense and tactical wisdom to not do that kind of shit. If you have visual contact with the shooter, maybe, since then you can watch his movements if he does turn to shoot someone that calls out. But telling a bunch of kids to cry out like that, expecting a child to know how to know if the shooter can see them or is near them or not, while petrified with fear?
