President Joe Biden on Tuesday said that the United States will impose sanctions “far beyond” the ones that the United States imposed in 2014 following the annexation of the Crimean peninsula.

“This is the beginning of a Russian invasion of Ukraine,” Biden said in a White House speech, signaling a shift in his administration’s position. “We will continue to escalate sanctions if Russia escalates,” he added.

Russian elites and their family members will also soon face sanctions, Biden said, adding that “Russia will pay an even steeper price” if Moscow decides to push forward into Ukraine. Two Russian banks and Russian sovereign debt will also be sanctioned, he said.

Also in his speech, Biden said he would send more U.S. troops to the Baltic states as a defensive measure to strengthen NATO’s position in the area.

Russia shares a border with Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.

A day earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered troops to go into the separatist Donetsk and Lugansk regions in eastern Ukraine after a lengthy speech in which he recognized the two regions’ independence.

Western powers decried the move and began to slap sanctions on certain Russian individuals, while Germany announced it would halt plans to go ahead with the Russia-to-Germany Nord Stream 2 pipeline.

At home, Biden is facing bipartisan pressure to take more extensive actions against Russia following Putin’s decision. However, a recent poll showed that a majority of Americans believe that sending troops to Ukraine is a “bad idea,” and a slim minority believes it’s a good one.

All 27 European Union countries unanimously agreed on an initial list of sanctions targeting Russian authorities, said French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, and EU foreign affairs head Josep Borell claimed the package “will hurt Russia … a lot.”

Earlier Tuesday, Borell asserted that Russian troops have already entered the Donbas region, which comprises Donetsk and Lugansk, which are under the control of pro-Russia groups since 2014.

And on Tuesday, the Russian Parliament approved a Putin-back plan to use military force outside of Russia’s borders as Putin further said that Russia confirmed it would recognize the expanded borders of Lugansk and Donetsk.

“We recognized the states,” the Russian president said. “That means we recognized all of their fundamental documents, including the constitution, where it is written that their [borders] are the territories at the time the two regions were part of Ukraine.”

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Putin said that Ukraine is “not interested in peaceful solutions” and that “every day, they are amassing troops in the Donbas.”

Meanwhile, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday morning again downplayed the prospect of a Russian invasion and proclaimed: “There will be no war.”

“There will not be an all-out war against Ukraine, and there will not be a broad escalation from Russia. If there is, then we will put Ukraine on a war footing,” he said in a televised address.

The White House began to signal that they would shift their own position on whether it’s the start of an invasion.

“We think this is, yes, the beginning of an invasion, Russia’s latest invasion into Ukraine,” said Jon Finer, the White House deputy national security adviser in public remarks. “An invasion is an invasion and that is what is underway.”

For weeks, Western governments have been claiming Moscow would invade its neighbor after Russia gathered some 150,000 troops along the countries’ borders. They alleged that the Kremlin would attempt to come up with a pretext to attack, while some officials on Monday said Putin’s speech recognizing the two regions was just that.

But Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin told reporters Tuesday that Russia’s “latest invasion” of Ukraine is threatening stability in the region, but he asserted that Putin can “still avoid a full blown, tragic war of choice.”

The Stalker: Anomaly Discord server was making Red Forest jokes about those poor SoB's for weeks following that little disaster. You know shit's fucked when you fuck up so bad a bunch of random vidya players are mocking you for your ignorance. Granted, it wasn't really their fault because absolutely nobody told them just how bad things really were there (and in fact would have been shipped off to a Gulag penitentiary labor camp for telling them how bad things really were), but still..
That brings up an interesting point. The STALKER video game series is just as popular in Russia as it is everywhere else. Did these soldiers just think Pripyat was abandoned and looked eerily similar to the game's setting just because? If I got deployed to a location that looked like a city in Fallout with abandoned vehicles and buildings that looked like they haven't been used in 30+ years and hazard warnings every three meters I'd be very hard pressed to touch anything.

Considering the official line is NOTHING HAPPENED AT THE NUCLEAR POWER PLANT, yes. Unironically yes at that. If all the history books and easily-available info says nothing happened at the NPP, you'd think it was just a video game story and not actual reality.

Early on in the war I kind of felt bad for those "poor misguided kids" sent in by Putin to fight. Tanks being abandoned after running out of fuel, the awkward stares at and from Ukrainian civilians passing them on the highways...

There's rumors that the tanks ran out of fuel and broke down, due to corruption in the Russian Military, the leaders pocketed the funds meant for repairs/fuel/training. Putin ordered their assassination, which is why you saw a bunch of high ranking military, being "killed in action" early on.

On the ground the rumors are the Russians have control, but it's costing them a lot of conscript fodder. The Ukrainians, who've received billions of dollars of weapons from the US, more than they could ever use, are largely selling them off to arms dealers, in the hopes to get enough money to send their families to Poland. Zelensky is considered a CIA puppet, and will make all the public appearances he needs to, to continue public support for military funding.

According to a contractor in the Ukraine "It's a shitshow"

Not saying I don't beleive you... actually I am.

Until we see NLAWs and M177s out in bumfuck nowhere for whatever warlord paid for it in sex slaves and coke I doubt very much that stuff is going missing on anywhere near the scale we might' ve assumed. The war's flushed a lot of the more obvious corruption out into the open very quickly and there's a lot of people now involved in the army that are more likely to frag some bastard dropping stuff off the back of a lorry due to it helping the russians more overtly than in previous years.

Not saying its not happening, after all in WW2 the "Spiv" Blackmarketeer was such an iconic part of wartime life here in Britain he was immortalised in Dad's Army by James Beck's Private Walker.

But it feels like a big ole x to doubt. Ukraine's needed every weapons system we can throw at them to arm up and replace resources expended in 3 months of constant fighting.

Just all smells a bit of "Zelensky makes you sign a 3 year contract and sics interpol on you if you go home" to discourage western volunteers.

Nothing happened here, either, friend. Lake Karachay? No such place.

China will probably be stupid and treat their soldiers as cannon fodder.
I wonder if China would actually send troops over the mountain pass to invade because that would turn bloody if the pajeets were ready.

The USSR made the lives of its subjects miserable. Also, they were Nazi Germany's allies during the beginning of WW2; Germany would not have dared to invade Poland if they knew they were fighting a two-front war from the start. The USSR remained their ally until Hitler betrayed them in Operation Barbarossa. Also, it was American financial and material support that helped the Soviets win against Germany. If the Americans didn't help them, Hitler would have defeated them rather handily.

Er, no it doesn't. If anything, they made GLOBOHOMO even more powerful by giving them a reason to unite. Before this, NATO was considered an aging relic, and the GLOBOHOMO agenda was seen as malicious. Now? GLOBOHOMO are the good guys, and NATO has a reason to exist, with new members coming in.

It's happening now. Ethnic Russians were already dying off due to the large number of abortions, as well as alcohol abuse which lowers testosterone and causes domestic violence. But thanks to this war, Russia's place as China's vassal is all but assured.

True-it's most of the world that isn't a second or third-world shithole. Most of the countries that applies sanctions to Russia are the wealthiest in the world. Meaning that the rest of Russia's would-be trading partners do not have as much capital as the countries that cut ties with them economically.

And? Said non-western countries do not like each other that much. China and India hate each other, and they both have enemies from the Muslim world.

$10 billion is a drop in the bucket. In March, they were losing $20 billion a day:

Now, they're losing $900 million a day:

That ten billion won't last very long.

That's one and the same. Renouncing your faith in your leaders is tantamount to treason. If a German renounced National Socialism in WW2 publicly, they'd have him shot.

Er, how's about no? Having only one source is bullshit.
Nigtard, you know you can't have a two front war with Reich, Poland, Russia right? Did you mean Britain and Russia? France maybe? Oh who am I kidding, doubt you can say which patch of the map is Europe which is Straya.
It's quite telling that these people consider affirming the fact that richest countries in the world are allied with Ukraine against Russia an argument in their favor.
It's even more hilarious to see them gobble up Xi's micropenis because they're supposedly supporting Russia and are its greatest ally, even though Germany probably did more for Ukraine in this conflict than China did for Russia.
To be willing to overlook everything that is China just to own the libs is exceptional to say the least.

Pathetic.
China for all its faults is a billion times better than the judeo-west.
This is one of the stupidest things anyone has said since this all started.. The US will merc any Ukie with a nukie without hesitation, the last thing anyone wants is more nukes over there. btw no one is shooting artillery into nuclear plants
Even hohols are not dumb enough to do that.
>We are now at the stage where right wing faggots consider the Soviet Union "based"

All Communists get the rope
Most commies live in the USA and Israel. Cool it with the antisemitism goy. Eat the bugs and vegan burger.

Now that is believable. Slavs will slav.

The west is doomed. Either it gets btfod by Russia or China, or it will slowly become a nigger caliphate Somalia 2.0

The only strength of the west were whites, without it, they are nothing but a chink satrapy waiting to happen.

Enjoy the nigs!

People are mostly aware, but the general sentiment is that Pripyat is mostly "safe" by now with severe radiation spots being limited.
Rest assured, details such as the fact that liquidators had to literally bury irradiated soil is not something they'd know. Besides... orders are orders, so these retards did what their retard command told them.

yeah and also selling organs from dead russian soldiers
how do they get the weapons out of the country since the ports are blocked?

There's a single BMP that has now gone between Lviv and Odessa on the same train fifteen times as they try and sneak it out to Sheik Mah'bo'dee but can't figure out how to get it there.

Meanwhile the Sheik has just taken another fat rip of coke and is off to bed his third bimbo for the day forgetting he'd ever bought it.

They will, just need 6 gorillion more dollars in aid first.
Nah, the fanatics in the Ukro military will just say Zelensky was a Russian agent and a Jew all along, hang him as a traitor to the glorious Ukrainian reich, install a new fuhrer (Arestovich? LOL), and immediately proceed to beg for more gibs from NATO.

Here's a good analysis of what will happen next. Note the part about Poland's "soft annexation" of Western Ukraine, I predicted that back in 2021.

It is holols. They'll sell it to Ivan, who'll sell it to Achmed.

Who pissed in your cornflakes this morning? Is it realization that once Hungary stops being Putin's "best girl" not only you are going to pay EU market rate for gas, but extra like the rest of EUcucks? That's a lot of "enlargement" rather quickly. You may thank your commie Orban for that shit.

Yeah, somehow I don't see M777 or reapers showing up in jungles of Afrika.

Entire "article" (literally):

KYIV, May 27 (Reuters) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy on Friday said Ukraine was not eager to talk to Russia's Vladimir Putin but that it has to face the reality that this will likely be necessary to end the war.

"There are things to discuss with the Russian leader. I'm not telling you that to me our people are eager to talk to him, but we have to face the realities of what we are living through," Zelenskiy said in an address to an Indonesian think tank.

"What do we want from this meeting... We want our lives back... We want to reclaim the life of a sovereign country within its own territory," he said, adding that Russia did not appear to be ready yet for serious peace talks.

What exactly is he surrendering to? The narative is still that RF needs to roll back to pre-2014. And like it has been said many times, Ukraine is not Russia, ruled by a senile tard over herd of zombies.

See, it's like inkblots, normal person reads this article and sees a person trying to end war with its territory in tact, you read it and you think the article talks about Putins dick in your ass.

Anywho ... America-bros lighting up RF APC. America, fuck yeah!
