Moving away from RT being progressive fuck heads theatrically politicizing a bunch of dead kids.

Good lord are things bad for Lets play YT channel. I knew it was bad before, but I saw a video in my recommended from them with only 50K views after a single day. So I took a gander at the last week for their channel because I didn't think things were THAT bad.

All the thumbnails look like garbage, there is a confused arrangement of edited episodes, shorts and stream uploads all mashed together on the channel which is amateurish to the extreme and kills the search algorithm for their channel, they are only getting 700 live viewers on YT live (which is exceptionally low for a Youtube livestream), and they only had one video break 100k views in the last 9 days (probably longer, didn't look).

This is fucking embarrassing for a "professional" company backed channel with over 3.6 million subscribers.

So glad to see that even when the ship is sinking, AH is doing their best to die even faster. The comments on that reddit thread give me joy that atleast AH fans woke the fuck up from their slumber. Now I want FH fans to do the same and realize that the channel that used to be is no more.

After everyone screaming about moving to Canada when Trump won, or being non-citizens in the first place, and then going silent afterwards like nothing happened everyone knows it's all theatre.

The best part is that if any of them actually had the integrity to follow through on their promise to move to Canada, they'd discover Canada actually has much stricter immigration laws than the US and most of them would not be allowed to stay because they would not be viewed as being productive members of the Canadian economy and worth legal status/citizenship.

I just got over having the flu, and that sucked more then covid in my opinion, though I did get my shots and forgot about my flu shot, not that it would've helped cause the doctor thought it was this avian flu going around.

Lmao small tangent here. they switched to shorter form videos to get more views but that doesn’t work. They just need better content. For example the last video is 9 days old but only 88k views when it should be more especially for a 3.6 million sub channel… meanwhile this channel has 1.25 million subscribers and has tons views with some videos being long and short and the quality is pretty consistent in each video. I know the argument has already been said but I just stumbled upon this channel and couldn’t help making a comparison

They spent so long actively ignoring how YouTube works because of their site that the AH and Let's Play channels got put in an algorithm hole ages ago, they're unrecoverable no matter what they do. Same for the Rooster Teeth channel as well.

In modern YouTube subscribers are just a dick swinging number, what actually matters is the number of people who have clicked the little bell thingy (which functionally works how subscribers did when AH was at its peak) and how many views and viewer engagement you get in the first X hours after uploading. This is a whole bunch of things from the tags you use, the thumbnail, the watch time, the frequency that you keep coming back to watch videos, etc..

This determines how heavily the algorithm promotes the video, which is where something like 60%+ of views come from for most channels. Because of this most YouTube videos heavily push that you "ring the bell". Most of their audience is pushed by the algorithm, and the number of people who "click the bell" and how long those people watch directly correlates with how heavily the video gets promoted.
