Registrations will remain closed to the public throughout June, 2022.

IMO, it's really just a matter of the younger generations not knowing anything about opsec or good Internet etiquette. They were never taught about "stranger danger" or the importance of integrating into a forum's culture (by lurking more and only posting if you have something meaningful to contribute). Eternal September, but now with phoneposting ADHD zoomers.

Also can't discount all the bad actors coming here recently - like the AF catboys who only signed up to defend their master.

I can't really say I told you so because I didn't really predict it in this particular way, but I have been pretty strongly in favor of some real population control even before I became a mod and started "going hunting with a blindfold and a shotgun".

I also never expected it to be this bad either, so I actually don't know what to suggest to mitigate the problem. Registration can't stay closed forever. Maybe just opening them up in the dead of winter only? I dunno. Summerfaggotry is only part of the problem.

Its kind of funny having watched this site grow over the course of the past 6 years. Its barely moved an inch in terms of site culture. Its like the edgiest bits of '00s era internet culture that got cut off to make room for the modern corporate sheen the internet has today, all conglomerated in one place. I couldn't imagine too many of these younger zoomers being able to mesh in right away. There are kids on the internet today that don't remember Adobe Flash Player.

The Kiwi Farms' first 2 albums were great, but then they signed to a major label and went mainstream. Their new stuff is terrible, overproduced commercial crap, no songwriting craft at all. Very sad.
My issues go back even further. The stuff they put out when they called themselves Cwcki Forums was too lo-fi for some, but had a lot of bite to it. The musicianship was a little rough, but it held a lot of potential and was very griping. After they changed the lineup, shifted musical genres, and renamed themselves to Kiwi Farms it never felt the same. The old bite and determination the group had was gone and it really reflected in their music.

Only problem with invites is, I would never want to admit to anyone that I use this place. I imagine a lot of other people might feel the same way. If we go invite only, we may never have another new user.
That's why you should only invite people you met on the Farms. They won't judge you, and as a bonus you already know they fit the site's culture.

In case anyone was wondering why this guy has a "Retired Staff" tag.

Just implement some sort of automated trial period where a user has to log in to the site for X days out of Y without being able to actually do anything, if he puts up with it for a month or 3 he's probably serious and robojanny can give him posting privileges.
Neurotic spergs can't commit to anything so they'll be filtered out automatically.

Yeah maybe registrations should stay closed the entirety of Summer and not just June. It's usually around that time we get an influx of new users to the CW, Artcow and A&H threads.

Many zoomers are taught NOT to use infosec and leave a strong internet trail to show accountability and show who you are to employers. Many school projects force you to dox yourself on publically accessable pages. They are not taught infosec at all. I was not, I learned it myself because I'm not retarded.
This is true. Did a few uni courses through work. One of the classes required us to make a twitter and LinkedIn because it was some kind of "social media supported" class. It was for something completely unrelated to social media, imagine this was a math class. Of course on LinkedIn you have to use your full name. The "suggestion" for Twitter was to use your first initial and last name with numbers lmao.

Had to be the most retarded cross of zoomer and boomerism I have never personally experienced.
