Currently all populist movements are discredited as TrumpNazis and their main politicians are almost entirely people who cuck as much as possible to the establishment or are otherwise insanely inept at actually getting things done (case in point, Donald Trump and his handler Kushner). The establishment unites behind abject failures like Macron and Biden to defeat populists. The media and levers of society are all in the hands of the powerful.
doesn't matter. if shit gets bad enough people want someone to fix it, so anyone promising that will get put into power one way or another (that's why people should have basic knowledge of history). it's also at the same time where everything breaks down and splinters, which is the absolute opposite of globohomo, so even if there is no (populist) alternative thanks to the uniparty, you gonna see post-soviet russia 2.0, if not outright yugoslavia depending how hard the bughives and shitholes are gonna chimp out.

Also don’t be concerned about the nominal price- CAD is about $0.70 to one USD
Just updating this: My aunt successfully ordered from Canada Amazon, and everything went through. According to the tracking, it should be here next week. Hopefully that is true, will update. The price of formula was obviously higher than what you would pay locally, but it wasn't too bad, considering we're in a shortage and this is coming from another country.

This makes me happy. I hate hearing about this insane shortage, babies are hard enough work without literally stressing about their food. Canadian babies are fat and happy, I’m pretty sure it’s the same stuff. :feels:

I increasingly wonder if I shouldn't ask the mods to merge this thread with the Global Depression thread because the supply chain issues and the economic issues really seem to be feeding each other.

At any rate, unsure where to put this, I chose randomly.

KUALA LUMPUR - Chicken supply in Malaysia appears to be slowly stabilising following the export ban imposed by the government, but retail prices remain stubbornly high.

Chicken rice seller Farhana Junid said that at the peak of the crisis last week, she received only 80 birds instead of the 200 needed to run her shops in Johor Bahru.

"I've been getting 150 birds per day for the past few days - still short but at least it's something. We're now extending our business hours back to normal," she told The Straits Times.

"I had to close my shops early last week since I had nothing to sell. I lost about RM17,000 (S$5,300) (in income) because of the shortage, but things look like they're slowly improving, although it's still too early to say."

Malaysia is currently facing a chicken shortage, with Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob announcing on May 23 that it will halt the export of up to 3.6 million chickens a month from Wednesday (June 1), until domestic prices and production stabilise.
The government imposed a ceiling price of RM8.90 per kg of chicken, under a price control scheme in force between Feb 5 and June 5.

Checks by ST found that although there was an adequate supply of raw chicken at supermarkets and wet markets in the Klang Valley, many sellers were selling it above the ceiling price, risking a penalty of a fine of RM100,000 to RM1 million, or three to five years' jail, or both, under the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act 2011.

Malaysia was one of the places hit by the bird flu so this isn't too surprising.

Begun, the wars for new paramount leaders have.
For the uninitiated:
There's been an open split between the standing committee members of the CPC. Currently Xi has the edge with a 4-3 split, but his issue is that the younger generations in the NPC is not going along with his Mao revivalist shit. It is extremely rare to see Xinhua (Think Chinese Pravada) even acknowledge actions done in open opposition to the current party secretary position. You may remember I posted about "Dynamic covid zero" a while back where they went "fuck the economy, we need zero COVID". This article is titled "On the actions of the State Council unveiling a new set of programs for stabilization and reinforcement of the economic situation".

China to expedite delivery of policy package to keep economy stable

Updated: Jun 02,2022 06:53 Xinhua

BEIJING — China will speed up the implementation of a package of policy measures to maintain stable economic performance and ensure that market entities and the people are well-informed of these policy steps and benefit to the fullest extent, according to a decision made at the State Council's executive meeting chaired by Premier Li Keqiang on June 1.
The meeting noted that the policy package, introduced in line with the overall thinking and policy orientation decided at the Central Economic Work Conference and outlined in the Government Work Report, is mainly aimed at increasing the speed and effectiveness of policy implementation.
They are crucial and timely measures for overall economic stability with a properly-heightened intensity, as well as fine-tuned execution of macro policies targeting the needs of market entities, in an effort to raise efficiency without compromising long-term interests.
Thanks to swift actions across government departments, good progress has been made in rolling out detailed implementation plans for the 33 policies in six aspects.
"Since the announcement of the policy package, government departments have all taken proactive steps," Premier Li said. "We must redouble our efforts, in particular to accelerate policy implementation."
The meeting stressed the need to fully examine the policy package and further flesh out each and every measure to make sure all those eligible should be fully informed and benefit to the fullest extent.
The newly-added amount of 140-billion-yuan value added tax credit refunds should be basically delivered by July. Policy banks will increase the credit line by another 800 billion yuan to provide financial support for infrastructure building, and a mechanism will be set up to meet the needs of key projects.
All eligible migrant workers who have lost their jobs, whether covered by the unemployment insurance scheme or not, will receive provisional living allowances or other forms of relief. Primary responsibility for paying such allowances should be made clear.
With regard to the deferral of principal and interest repayments on the 90-billion-yuan commercial truck loans extended by centrally-managed auto companies, the enterprises concerned will be encouraged to inform loan-takers of the deferral procedures through online announcements, text messages and other means.
Other policies also need to be fleshed out to see that they are operable and can be delivered on the ground. Policy implementation will be closely tracked, and improvements made whenever needed.
"Supporting measures and detailed guidelines for the policies are of critical importance. Detailed implementation plans should be swiftly introduced and easy to act on, and all those eligible should be fully informed of the policies and benefit from them, so that market entities and the people can enjoy the policy dividends in a timely way," Premier Li said.
The meeting called for deepening reform of government functions. Vigorous steps will be made to see that no deliberate application is required for those eligible to benefit from the policies and that more services will be accessible online.
To smooth logistics in both trunk and branch routes and facilitate early resumption of full-capacity production, the bottlenecks must be pinpointed, relevant measures should be improved, and targeted assistance to key enterprises will be intensified.
On investment projects, all localities and departments concerned should keep work logs, improve approval procedures and provide greater support in land use and other aspects, to enable the launch of projects as quickly as possible.
Free and smooth passage of summer harvest agricultural machinery should be ensured. Measures will be implemented to support the listing of platform companies on domestic and overseas markets in accordance with laws and regulations, and ease the restrictions on car purchases.
"We must foster an enabling business environment for economic development through the reform of government functions, and solve difficult issues and unleash the vitality and creativity of market players with reform-based and market-orientated measures," Premier Li said.
The meeting urged tighter supervision on policy implementation. The task forces dispatched to 12 provinces by the State Council are required to formulate reports based on on-site inspection as soon as possible, and prominent problems found in the policy implementation will be made public.
Major indicators of the second quarter, including local GDP, surveyed urban unemployment rate, fiscal revenue after deducting tax refunds, and consumer prices will be released in a fact-based manner by the statistics authorities together with the finance, human resources and social security, and tax authorities on a province-specific basis, in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.

The 20th NPC will be a fireworks show at this rate.

I can’t imagine that all these food recalls coming at breakneck speed is going to help the current situation
I’ve never seen so many concurrent food recalls in my entire life
There's been thus far unconfirmed reports of government agencies demanding that long-term food companies such as Augason Farms sell their entire product to them or their doors will get kicked in.
Taken as a singular development, grain of salt time but combine that with all the not so coincidental fires at food processing facilities and fertilizer plants, in addition to the so called avian bird flu - diagnosed by fraudulent PCR tests - which has wiped out tens of thousands of chickens and turkeys...these food recalls smack of the products going straight into a underground bunker somewhere.

Or simply that food supplies must go through the government. Process as follows:
1) Induce food shortages
2) De facto seize remaining food production by demanding government purchase takes priority:
--> "We can't allow the rich to simply buy up all the food and leave people to starve. We must enact these compulsory sale laws now..."
--> Note, the rich will still be able to buy up food. But regular folks will be pushed into the same rationing system as everyone else. They wont call it rationing. They'll have a term like "Emergency allocations" or "Food reservations."
3) Maintain situation in perpetuity. Continue to consolidate farm and food production under merger of state and corporations. Bureaucracy / fees / whatever that are onerous to independent farmers to further push sale of land towards Bill Gates and cronies.

Bang - fascism as Mussolini defined it. They just wont call it that or acknowledge it as a permanent thing. That's a more likely scenario. Doors kicked in will be for those independent farmers who attempt to resist the bureaucracy with force.

Economically, I think we are under fascism now. Fascism is government control of corporate means of production. It seems we have that. However, the other moral control part is missing. Fascism is not about moral degeneracy whatsoever. So, I can't completely argue we live under fascism because our society is still so insanely decadent and not even old school Commies would not tolerate the shit that is going on now. I have no idea what to call our current governance, but definitely not democracy or even a real republic.
