I'm fairly parasocial myself with some streamers, the only time, in my opinion, that parasocialism becomes a real issue is when you have other things wrong with your mental state that compound the perceived relationship from something "fun, but clearly fake and one sided" to anything more than that.
I have a fairly similar mindset on shippers, I can look at a pair of people and think they would go well together, and in some peoples eyes, that makes me a "cringy shipper". But in my eyes shipping only ever becomes a problem once it becomes external to the shipper themselves. I don't care what anyone thinks, as long as they stay within the boundaries set by the talent, or if they are clearly past those boundaries, but keep them to themselves.
