Gotta love watching Labelle advocate for the banning of books right on the heels of reeeing about pro-trans books being banned.
Seriously if anyone takes anymore than a slight glance at the shit these people say all their arguments just fall to pieces. I hate that this is what pride has become. These idiots bitch and moan about how it used to be a protest and about rights and yeah, it was, it was about not going to jail for having consensual gay sex and about being recognized as a spouse in a will. Now "trans rights" are the focus and it makes no sense because here in Canada being trans doesn't exclude you from any rights. You can still get all the mutilating surgeries and name changes your heart desire, the only time "the man" steps in is when you want it for free, which isn't a right since no cis women gets a boob job from the government because her A-cups make her sad and she'll threaten to commit suicide if she doesn't get them.
Labelle and their ilk slap the word "right" over anything they just want because they're nothing but narcissistic consoomers. They don't want to just live in peace as the gender they identify as, they want to wield it like a whip to control how you speak to them, how you treat them and even how you think about them. They take and take and demand more and more and then wonder why corporations capitalize on that.
Rate me as you will, but I miss when pride was about solidarity and visibility, an actual celebration of an otherwise very isolated community, instead of this oppression olympics power play where the winner gets to behead everyone who doesn't suck their girldick.
