Culture Amazon Employees Call On Amazon To Stop Selling All Books Deemed As Anti-Trans - Anyone remember when we could go a single month without some sort of retarded protest and/or summer rumble?

Amazon Employees Call On Amazon To Stop Selling All Books Deemed As Anti-Trans

In 2021, a handful of Amazon employees quit the company over its decision to sell books that suggest kids who identify as transgender are mentally ill. Now, a group of employees is protesting its continued sale of those books by disrupting a Pride event at its headquarters in Seattle. According to The Washington Post, around 30 members of the organization No Hate at Amazon laid on the ground wrapped in trans flags to stop the company's annual Pride flag-raising tradition. An organizer said: "Amazon does have standing policies against hate speech in its content and technically they say we don't sell it." But in truth, those contentious books are still listed on its website.

In a petition [A] the group previously circulated to get Amazon to stop selling anti-trans books, it specifically named two titles: Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters by Abigail Shrier and Johnny the Walrus by American conservative political commentator Matt Walsh. "By continuing to sell and promote anti-trans books and repeating the rhetoric of the anti-trans hate movement, Amazon upper management has allowed the store that we build and operate to be complicit in [the anti-trans] hate movement," the petition reads.

At least one employee who participated in the event quit the company this week. Senior software engineer Lina Jodoin explained that it's more than just about the sale of those books, but also about the response they've gotten from management when they tried to escalate their concerns. And based on the company's response to the protest, it will keep on selling those titles.

Amazon spokesperson Brad Glasser told The Post in a statement:

"As a company, we believe strongly in diversity, equity, and inclusion. As a bookseller, we’ve chosen to offer a very broad range of viewpoints, including books that conflict with our company values and corporate positions. We believe that it’s possible to do both – to offer a broad range of viewpoints in our bookstore, and support diversity, equity, and inclusion."

DIRECT TRANSCRIPT:

"We, the workers of Amazon, call on Amazon to reject hate.

Amazon has established a pattern of platforming and profiting from hate. Most recently, Amazon has started selling hateful books that attack transgender youth and has shockingly classified and promoted them as bestsellers in the LGBTQ+ category. Amazon workers, especially in the trans and LGBTQ+ community, are pushing to remove these books and others like them because they are directly hurting our community. However, Amazon has not only continued to sell them, but is still promoting them as top results for transgender search terms.

These books are one tactic used by a broader anti-transgender hate movement that in 2021 pushed a record breaking amount of anti-trans legislation targeted at minors and their access to lifesaving gender-affirming medical care. Last year murders and violence against transgender people increased to record highs. When Amazon stopped selling an anti-trans book early last year, radical, bigoted pundits and politicians disingenuously claimed Amazon taking action against hate was “an assault on free speech” and “censorship”. This is not a free speech or censorship issue. Companies like Amazon have a responsibility and legal right to set and enforce content guidelines to prevent hate and abuse.

Following this coordinated backlash, Amazon upper management refused to engage with workers about subsequent anti-trans books. They refused to elaborate on the decision-making process. They refused to resolve the inconsistency between these books and their content policy. In response to workers’ protests, they deflected with talking points about “censorship” and the “marketplaces of ideas”.

By continuing to sell and promote anti-trans books and repeating the rhetoric of the anti-trans hate movement, Amazon upper management has allowed the store that we build and operate to be complicit in this hate movement. This has created a hostile work environment that has forced many trans workers to take medical leave or resign. This is not the first time that Amazon upper management has dismissed concerns from marginalized or oppressed groups. Their actions create a workplace which forces members of those communities to choose between their health and their jobs. Amazon’s continued lack of action on hate leaves the door open to platforming even more hate and further abuse.

In response, we are organizing a worker-led movement to stop hate at Amazon and prevent this abuse from ever happening again. We imagine a better future in which Amazon empowers workers with actual influence over the policies, products, and content that impact us in order to protect all marginalized communities and oppressed groups.

We call on Amazon to:

• Stop hate at Amazon: Stop selling the anti-trans hate books Irreversible Damage and Johnny the Walrus.

• Establish an elected workers’ oversight board which:
○ Includes and collectively advocates for workers from marginalized communities and oppressed groups.
○ Exercises powers including rejecting and reclassifying content.
○ Communicates openly about decisions and justifications.
○ Implementation details of this board must be approved democratically by signers of this petition.

We invite all employee groups and workers to speak up and unite with us to stop all forms of hate at Amazon.

I like how they couldn't even wait a few days into their very special month to start with absurd demands.

I do often wonder if they'll ever realize that if tranny brain ever does get officially omitted as a mental illness, it would also lead to state-funded medical insurance (i.e. Medicaid) most likely not covering their "life-saving gender affirming surgeries" anymore, since they wouldn't be deemed absolutely necessary for the patient. But then I remember that of course they don't realize that, because if they had any inkling of foresight at all, they wouldn't be trooning out in the first place.

Much like Netflix, if you don't like what your company is selling find another job. There is a fuckload of LBGTQWTF+ bullshit all over Amazon and it's generally pushed to the forefront of books and merch. So if these hypersensitive fucks can't deal with books/media that don't agree with them then they can leave.

I recently read When Harry Became Sally, which was one of the first (or the first?) books Amazon pulled for transphobic "hate speech." I'm sure you will be shocked, SHOCKED to learn that the book was both evidence-based and extremely compassionate (much more compassionate than I am). It did not contain anything the slightest bit hateful.

The author even emphasized that it's important to support gender nonconforming and dysphoric people to live how they wish, but he also provided extensive reviews and citations of how trans medicine has no evidence behind it whatsoever and he did not deny the reality of biological sex, so of course the cultists and rainbow capitalists came for his head. Fuck Amazon and fuck its troon cult employees.

Only if it's bound in human skin.

Nearly 600 Amazon employees signed a petition earlier this year asking Amazon to stop selling the books "Irreversible Damage" and "Johnny The Walrus," and to give workers more say over which books the company decides to stop selling.
Matt Walsh is kind of a douche, but this sort of thing does nothing but make him look sympathetic.

Honestly if you cannot call them "kind of a douche" and they are a financially viable author, the odds are way more likely you're just a super fan than it being one of the rare non-douches. The problem is there's enough naturally that way that staying in the market long enough to succeed means putting up with enough of them that it will wear on you as well.

What's next?
Obese store clerks refuse to stock shelves with foods they don't like. "Those fruits and vegetables are a threat to my existence!!!!"

I am shocked that amazon sells Mein Kampf. They quit selling Colin Flaherty's books becase he documents that black crime is wildly out of proportion to their percentage of the population. You can find page after page of white people = bad, men = bad and white men=bad books. However a few books discussing percentages were too spicy for them.

Amazon deserves this and more for trying to appease Big Gay.
Big Gay can not be appeased. Your best is not good enough and sooner or later you
will be condemned and all your support and activism will be forgotten.

The form of the protest, a die-in, was intended to highlight that transgender youth who face discrimination and are denied gender-affirming healthcare attempt suicide at rates many times higher than the general population.
They still have high suicide rates even after the hormones and surgeries.
It's almost as if gender dysphoria is a serious mental health issue that should be addressed with psychiatric treatment and not mutilating your body until you resemble Eddie Munster in drag.

Recognize the absurdity that Amazon is having a Pride Flag-raising ceremony to begin with. And look at that flag. Not only is it the ridiculous "Progress Pride" version, but it's also fucking HUGE.

you guys literally have a book that is misogynistic as fuck that supports killing wahmain for wrong think and eating zombie balls to transition, if amazon was soooooooooo transphobic they'd never have that penny dreadful ass book listed on sale for access. but not its there so fuck off with this whole transphobia shit, what about the fact I feel threatened as a biological woman with hate books directed towards me because I don't want to suck the girly dick? HMMMMM? you don't even know what true oppresion is, if this was a truely oppresive country you ugly troons you'd be dangling off lamp posts by your neck for you peversity alone.

People laughed back in the day when I advocated to pirate EVERYTHING. Funny how these people are seething now about not being able to find their favorite movie or tv episode on streaming services, or get a copy of a book they like and I’m sitting pretty on my hoard of media booty

Yarrr harr harr!
I recommend WebOasis as a very good "Index of indexes" when I am plotting charts on the high seas. Things with popularity are easy to find but it gets harder the more obscure it is and text is one of the least available via torrent trackers I know of. I would recommend QBittorrent as a client but they apparently did something super pozzed with the version after mine. There's probably even guides indexed there. It has a lot of resources.

You can just hear the air quotes around "Anti-Trans" - give the crybabies an inch, and soon, every book that isn't 52% trans characters and focusing on trans issues (even if it's a repair manual for a toaster) is going to be banned, you know it, I know it, the trans activists are just hoping we don't.

So that's 30 employees out of, what, 2 million?

I can't see any scenario where the company would actually listen to them.
If you haven't noticed, trannies are dictating everything despite being so few, Amazon very well may listen to them.

Did you see the leaked conference where Amazon employees were crying (actual tears crying) about Matt Walsh's book and that it must be banned?

"We didn't get what we wanted and that made us even more upset."
What are they going to do about it, not work? That's what they do anyway.

Mein Kampf still available on Amazon, by the way.
As it should be right next to Das Kapital or any anthology of retarded Cat Party sourced articles. People who want to ban books are disgusting. All ideas should be subject to evaluation and criticism through logical arguments. That is the problem today, no logic, no nuance, just tow the party line or we will break and kill you every way but physically (yet). Not we can just agree to disagree and move on or worse, even change our minds a bit. It speaks to the utter rot of our society and hatred for the values on which it was founded. It is a cancer.
