Not really, yeah some autistic girls are girly but most aren't. Teaching most any form of gender norms can be impossible which is why so many autistic girls get groomed into being trans because they like monster trucks and "boy stuff" (or simply don't like girly things) then get told only boys like this stuff which in their brains becomes "boys like trains->I like trains->I am a boy" usually exacerbated by adults trying to get them to "act like a girl" and trannies confirming their bias.

Here's the dirty secret: as far as I know, there is no meaningful law on that specific point prior to trans bathroom shit about who goes where, we all just kind of followed the signs on the door like normal fucking people. I could be wrong about this but if the laws existed I never saw them enforced, and never heard about them. I'm not including civil rights stuff about race segregation because it has literally never been an issue post civil rights era since to the shock of the trans community apparently blacks can use bathrooms just like everyone else can without making a drama llama out of it.
The signs are on the door because there are good reasons for sex segregated facilities, but notice that bathrooms without signs existed prior. You got told to leave the bathroom if people complained to the building owner or manager and that authority took the complaint seriously enough to tell the offending person to leave the facility, assuming they were still there when management came knocking. That's a pretty high fucking bar to clear to be perfectly frank. Any normal person hears someone complain about them in a bathroom and say they're getting management, the maligned person would finish as quickly as possible, and fucking bolt before management showed up.
So strictly speaking, nothing at all prevented troons from using their "proper facilities" before, and frankly a lot of them probably did if they passed well enough or put in any effort. You go into the bathroom to do things you typically aren't going to turn into a social occasion after all. Even if you look like a freak, as long as you don't ACT like a freak, and not acting like a freak is key, chances are nobody gives a shit, do your business, get out, nobody's the wiser.
Which brings us to the laws the trannies want passed.
What the trannies want is compelled INACTION against people who are obviously freaks. Think about it, the laws they want prohibit "gender discrimination" in bathroom facilities, but the discrimination wasn't legally based to begin with as far as I can tell, so the laws they are trying to pass are basically the only specific law on point for bathrooms.
So the original standard was "anyone can use the facilities at the discretion of the building owner and must leave if told to" which comes from general trespassing standards almost entirely, and that becomes "anyone can use the facility at the discretion of the building owner, and self identified freaks specifically cannot be removed without facing a discrimination lawsuit".
I'm sure there's a raft of exceptions to that general principle built into the laws the trannies want because then they can point to them and complain about transphobia a bit more when people object, but the people who wrote it and the people tasked with enforcing it both know that what this means is people acting like freaks won't be removable legally until they're literally committing a violent crime in the bathroom on tape, because anything else is too subjective and likely to end up with a Benjamina Crumpeta Esq. reaming them in court over "human rights violations".
It's just one more avenue for trannies to utterly destroy someone at the snap of a finger, which is really the goal of all their machinations: power over you and your life.

As a side note, it's also one of the most painful inversions of the concept of "rights" I've ever seen, because the laws trannies want can't even be described as enshrining a right at the most basic level. In a secular legal sense, rights are a restriction of actions enforced against the government, which notably is the opposite of what a law typically is, which is a restriction of action imposed upon the people by the government.
So any "right" which is only described by the government restricting the actions of the people literally can't be a right, and that is outside of any moral debates about the whether freaks should be allowed to put on an Up Your Alley Fair in the women's restroom every hour on the hour just because they want to.
