There's a whole cottage industry of academic bullshit built up around polyamory. Polys don't want to be perceived as swingers or sportfuckers. They're better than that, don't you know. Because they have theory and ideology to justify their sexual inclinations.

So instead of just being honest and saying "I want to fuck a whole bunch of people," they couch it in terms of "deconstructing the cishet patriarchal hegemony of monogamy". Which they think sounds intellectual and revolutionary and woke.

Yeah, that's the thing. If it were anyone other than Kevin, I would assume a portion of the follower base was bought but I can't see him spending money on shit that isn't toys or something tangible.
