I’ll say that I think @Hollywood Hulk Hogan goes too extreme with his political opinions, but he also tends to stick where he’s able to do so without issue most of the time. I don’t agree with what he says, but I also typically don’t see him too often outside of threads where his take is the norm for the thread.

When you say this is "how they do it," you are conceding that gutting right wingers from websites is usually an act by existing users to protect an identity or culture common from the website's roots. I disagree, but over the past ten years that has become increasingly common, sure.

Not necessarily to "protect an identity or culture", no. Even politically neutral forums were transformed by TDS sufferers who seemed relatively normal or at least tolerant for well over a decade prior, and suddenly I was ostracized or banned for not bending the knee. I wasn't even very political before or during 2016, so it wasn't me who changed.

Point being, oldfags can change or radicalize, and then change the places they have influence over, especially if they're chummy with the site owner.

You can argue against the core userbase's right to say "you will not replace us," but when the institutional power is already held by said core userbase, it's just a really dumb idea.
Web forums are not democracies. You will only ever lose, and since this tact makes you look obnoxious, you lose faster than you would otherwise. You cannot appeal to "well, there are thousands of us at your doorstep now," when ultimately many of the people who hold all the power would prefer to ban a thousand accounts if it didn't mean having to read their dogshit posts.

That's why I'm saying, instead of insinuating that the people you are trying to force to tolerate your presence have no right to object to it, start working on the case for how you can be present and not disrupt the normal operations of the website. Null is incredibly patient and is even literally asking for some politisperg to step up and do this, to prove that it can be integrated with the website harmoniously, because he also "knows how this works" and doesn't want to go the route most websites go, i.e. excising the tumor.

I do not intend to disrupt Null's site, I respect it. I believe I follow the rules, and if there's something else I'm doing that he doesn't like then he can tell me to stop doing it and I'll cooperate. He essentially asked me why I'm here and I told him honestly, and he didn't ban me, so I guess he tolerates my presence, which is all I can ask.

But, for as long as I am here, operating within the bounds of the rules, I'm going to speak my mind. And the tumors are certain cliquey libtard oldfags, Null should put them on a short leash but he understandably has a soft spot for old members. I'd hate to see the place turn into just yet another fucking echo chamber, but that's not my call.

If it’s one person causing the issue, I think it’s more of a fix to toss them into a separate thread, if for any other than to keep it on topic. If they’re being serious or just trolling, having the thread just becoming an endless argument doesn’t really do anyone any favors save the person causing it.

maybe it's just me, but most of the time it's one side either throwing in the towel (because there's no point in going full reddit and "winning" an internet argument by pure attrition trying to have the last word) or everybody getting called a retard and fucking off.
but then I'm also not reading everything of every thread, a slapfight post is pretty easy to spot in less than 2 seconds, so it's easy enough to skip before it runs it's course.

A small anecdote:
I'm currently deployed overseas thanks to Monke Tsar invading his neighbor and like to keep up on the war. The Happenings thread is a /pol/ dumpster fire of schizo nonsense while the A&N thread is(was) pretty good for updates. I hate the pages upon pages of users slapfighting the same autistic retard or taking the most obvious bait instead of just ignoring the tard and posting news with some mild discussion and speculation. I've said it repeatedly that the only real solution to the "problem" people have with A&H is encouraging the use of the ignore function, and most users who are regulars don't care for the rest of the site the same way - again - most people in the various other areas of the site who are regulars stick to their own sections.

If there's one genuine, observable way in that A&N has a culture problem, it's this 4chan-borne issue where they think that ignoring spergs is somehow dishonorable, or some shit. They think that reading page after page of stale bait is some sort of dumb goddamn internet rite of passage that makes you strong like ox. And then, despite being totally above it all and wise to all the internet's tricks, they take the bait over and over, shitting up threads with a collection of bait posts and asperger's-laden replies to people who have no intention of arguing in good faith.

It's one thing to create a carefully curated hugbox of only approved opinions. But it's quite another to filter out unfunny retards whose sense of humor stopped evolving in 2010 and think that trolling internet randos is somehow not pathetic.

Occasionally you get the A&H posters Null was talking about in the OP going to other threads and derailing everything because they want to scream about politics. The RLM thread had it happen a few times recently.
