I'm like 80% sure that's a hydraulic ram that starts leaking and spraying. Sprinklers generally wouldn't go up and rely on a fountain effect. It would explain why the torch dude cut his flame source right when he noticed the spraying. Because the quite apparently very hot/already burning bits below are now being showered in finely dispersed oil, not water. I really want to know the details of the incident because the fucking control console went up from heat as the nigga is running from going back to grab his phone.

It was some kind of hydraulic press or ram, you can see the hammer drop from lost hydraulic pressure just before the fluid pipe is pulled down with it and it rips off the top at the very beginning, and what ever the fluid was it was hot as fuck and very flammable. I am guessing the cooling system failed without being noticed and the heat and pressure were just too much so either a safety release valve popped and the machine was in a very bad position for that to happen, or it just outright ruptured.

Most hydraulic oil is very, very flammable. There are synthetic alternatives which are safer, but they cost a load more so rarely get used, so it's generally a matter of maintenance as to if and when it spontaneously turns into a fuel-air bomb.

Honestly i think that the lack of information is specifically the reason why Eric and Dylan are the patron saints in the first place. It adds a sort of mystique to what they did and who they were, something along the lines of "It's so bad we can't even talk about it". The truth is that Eric and Dylan were losers, borderline illiterate, and did what they did for retarded reasons, they aren't any different from the waves of copycats they spawned. I think that releasing all the shit and letting people pick them apart and expose them for the retarded brain-dead burnout they were would go a long way towards demystifying Columbine and making more people realize that these guys really weren't cool or aspirational.

The basement tapes are one of those things i think should be out there for people to see, those are important pieces of history and could be very useful for people to study and learn more about what makes mass shooters tick. The Security footage is something i don't think should/will be released , while it being leaked could be interesting in the end it wouldnt be helpful to anyone and it would just bring up awful memories for survivors and loved ones of the deceased. in general my comment was regarding how strange i find it that all of the crime scene photos have never been leaked, its been 20+ years and yet no one has leaked them, seems like it should have happened by now.
