I ran into an older couple yesterday who are moving to Singapore for work. The wife was super excited to be leaving the USA because of how dangerous it is with all of the guns and was looking forward to living in a place where freedoms were curtailed for "the good of all and everyone". The loss of freedoms weren't really a big deal for her.

Ignoring the male/female freedom/security thing, it confirmed for me that the US cannot and will not remain united. The gap in core values is way too far apart. Anyone, anyone, that would exchange freedom for security is un-American. That whole idea is fundamentally un-American. Ben Franklin explicitly stated it. But, that's atleast 30-40% of the population that believes that. You cannot live with a fundamental difference of belief like that.

Believe the USA is more united than many think. If you pay attention only to what the MSM says, the country is going to hell in a handbasket. Believe if government and the MSM weren't doing all they can to keep people at odds with each other, most Americans would get along just fine. From what I see, Americans still do business together, still work together, still help each other. Believe it or not, most Americans are pretty tolerant as long as those being tolerated aren't trying to force their viewpoints/beliefs/lifestyles on them. In my opinion, it is government and the MSM who stir up the vast majority of the turmoil - a populace divided against themselves is easier to command. But more and more people see what the government/MSM are doing and consciously either ignore the bullshit or live without reference to the bullshit.

Americans can be united despite the government and the media, not because of them.

Probably yes, a lot of Americans are ignorant about the world and seem to think that every country in the planet is exactly like the US in terms of law and even societal customs so she'll likely be in for a rude awakening once she spends enough time living in such a wildly different country such as Singapore.

As a result, we aren’t used to fighting an inferior force and just winning, we are used to showing up on day one pulling no punches and the enemy folding like cheap paper. So if we had our own Ukraine, we would go “Ah, they’re not dead yet, as expected. Hit them harder.”

Granted, I am talking about our normal military, not Biden’s mess.

Singapore is very nice. It is right on the equator and the climate is very very nice.
I have probably been there to visit and spend time in the city about ~20 times (for work/meetings/business/conferences/tourism) It is a beautiful place.
I have probably stopped there in transit to/from the US and various asian countries 50+ times.
Singapore Airlines is one of the best ways to cross the pacific.

Because you dont need the fbi to run any hate machine when you see an obnoxious orange person on TV calling some guys wife ugly or talking about Mexicans bringing drugs and crime into the US, or even just his general narcissistic demeanor or name calling is enough to turn people off. Sure, media exposure doesn't help, but Trump created his brash persona himself, and a lot of people saw that and were put off by it.
