General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

My issue is that ユーゴ (Yugo) is also Japanese shorthand for Yugoslavia, so whenever I try to get a read on things I end up reading Japanese commie shit about the KGB and how cool the Soviets are and I'd really rather not.
I guess you can excuse it for people from the othe side of the world for this take but just to get it straight: Yugoslavia was never part of Russia/USSR or the Warsaw Pact.
I'm genuinely fine when troons don't make that and being vain as fuck their whole personality. So seeing Yugo having a genuine emotional breakdown over his struggle while doing their best to not make it a focus and just be a good streamer for his fans is more heartbreaking than anything.

It's an open secret that Yugo is a tranny, they just never make ot a focus and put the effort into being a good streamer.
Is it? I remember during the debut people here were denying that he is a full fledged tranny and more like Tamaki/Norio.
Edit: Welp to slow

Iirc it was an open secret Yugo was a girl playing a male character in the vein of Tamaki
Nah, not an open-secret in the sense of Moona does IRL streams on Twitch now open-secret. Yugo is very much supposed to be a "he" in terms of character, since we're not supposed to know the roommates, technically. It's just anyone with a brain would know that's very much a female (generally speaking) but they're in a male wave, so not similar to Melissa at all in that regard.

Non-Binary, not a Tranny.

I'm sure people will say that the correction is splitting hairs over two different paths of gender dysphoria — and that's valid — but generally speaking the NB people I know (which is a lot) are unanimously at peace with their biological sex and actively don't conform to it. Transgender folk reject their biological sex and wish to transition.

Uki Violeta, for example, is openly NB and retweets art of Uki as androgynous. His PL was also androgynous, but he identifies as 'Gay' which is an acknowledgement of his male sex and has never once brought it to the forefront of his character.

This makes Yugo's comment actually quite vexing to me. It's probably just the alcohol tapping into intrusive thoughts, but it would certainly suggest to me that Yugo is experiencing some genuine underlying identity issues, which is very unfortunate.

I don't hold out much hope that Yugo will last the long haul, but it is my hope that he'll be able to find inner peace and use the platform to express the person they are. This is pretty much my hope for all streamers, regardless of if their content/personality is 'for me' or not.
Times like these i wish I could give multiple stickers to one post

I opted for feels but you deserve an informative too

From some of the links I've seen posted, JP people shit on Yugo for not keeping up roleplay for the character, so there's a chance her comment was just reacting to that.

She buys into the nonbinary bullshit IRL, but nobody ever found any full on tranny shit, at least that I've seen. Seems pretty clear she's mentally fucked up, either way.

Using a male avatar wouldn't be a big deal if she didn't take it seriously, but she obviously has issues that make that impossible.

Every NB person I know is a flat or fat woman who wears hoodies because they have body image issues. They often say they wish they were men because they somehow think men don't have any issues like that

relatable Okayu

@Scuttle Do you think Yugo is bound to walk the same path as Melissa, considering they share some overlaps with identity woes?
Melissa's reasons for graduation were music-related. They wanted ownership over their own original music and, because the character doesn't belong to them and the agency need to be involved, they wanted to pursue a solo career (and seemingly already had their foot in the door).

The JP side of Nijisanji is far more LGBT than people who don't watch actually realise. Most people will think of Crossick (the relationship of Shirayuki Tomoe and Sukoya Kana) as a kind of outlier, but the reality is that members who have openly discussed such things can actually be counted in multiples of ten, and all of them are still active and successful (Hoshikawa, Akina, Gundou, Genzuki, and Naraka just to name a handful).

The issue isn't with identity woes, it's mostly just with being menhera as fuck. You could argue that NijiEN could have been more accommodating with designs but ehhhh it's not out the realm of possibility that, like Melissa and Genzuki, Yugo's future outfits are far more androgynous.

Speaking of Calli/Karen, Gigguk and Sydsnap just finished an IRL Twitch stream just now in Brighton and answered a question from chat about who got the most drunk at the wedding and they said Karen, who Sydsnap said was downing double whiskeys at the open bar and had to be helped back by the bride back to her room.

Par for the course for a wedding with an open bar, I'd say.

EDIT: 02:34:26 of the VOD (in case it doesn't clip at that spot)

In related news Bae is also an OG Amalee fan
Speaking of Amalee, anyone know what's up with the hold-up on her "Rise of the Monarch" album release? She teased it way back several months ago but the release seems to have been pushed back several times already despite the album being done and just waiting to be released on various platforms.

Corpos need to get with the times and get some professionals for their talents to be able to use so they don't all burn themselves out. Can't keep printing money if all your talents go batshit, burnout, or physically fuck themselves up. Yugo needs to take a page from Vox's book and get some therapy, sound like.

I don't see many Okayu clips often, so, have a cute misspeak

She's comfy. Looking forward to her next SF64 stream when she has a real 64 controller so she can get the true ending.

Late posting of Bae's schedule:

Pretty packed. She wasn't streaming for the Ollie and Rio collab earlier. Collab with Lui is the Japanese class. Collab with Roberu will be their first pair collab, though they've had group collabs before. Roberu is her Stars oshi IIRC. CHaDcast is also on this week.

I went and looked for your earlier post about her speaking Mandarin during her donation reading. She was responding to a donation congratulating her for 700k, so she can read it. Her accent is very thick; she definitely learnt it as a second language and not from childhood.

I do not think Kaela is Malaysian Chinese. (For those unfamiliar, this usually means at least two generations born and raised there, and often further back.)
Yeah, definitely not Malaysian Chinese. Malaysian Chinese tend to be more like the Mainland Chinese than the Indonesian Chinese because Malaysia has a huge institutional racism that made their minorities segregated

Hope they can sort things out before they really fuck up.
Sounds to me more of "I really am a man" or something like that. Also this reaffirms my belief that you should never stream while drinking alcohol, unless you really can hold your drink

Sasuga Calli

Regarding monarch as far as I know she hasn't specified last I heard about it was during Callis birthday where Calli said it'll be worth the wait and that its out of Monarchs hands otherwise it would be out already

Actually, listening to it a couple more times (only listened to it once originally), it more sounds like he is saying:
本当に男になったよかったなのに
Honto ni otoko ni natta yokattana no ni

Which means, "I really am glad I became a man." An actual resident JP-speaker who could actually confirm that would be better though, so take it with a grain of salt. I think it sounds more like that than him saying he wishes he was a real man, though.

Nevermind. He is saying something like:
"I wish I were really a man"
本当に男になったらよかったなのに
Hontou ni otoko ni nattara yokatananoni

That's why I said a grain of salt lol

By contrast Pippa and any other seemingly right wing Vtuber risks EVERYTHING by associating with the right (twitter cancellation doxxing media condemnation etc.) which tells me they genuinely believe its important for them to spread that message (or in Pippas case just enjoy that kind of humor which is equally respectable) which I respect a helluva lot more than a left vtuber who risks at most their prolly already minimal right wing audience and can easily recoup that with the woke crowd via free media advertisement
Pippa is a lefty though, just not part of the "sleepwalker" crowd. As for the whole "avoiding politics" thing, it's on part due to knowing that it will only alienate people. There are some opinions that are mostly accepted or not really frowned upon (most of them being lefty) but that's another issue. So far Pippa, Yuri, Lumi, and Tenma don't seem to belong to the sleepwalker crowd but they know that getting too political may alienate the viewers. Not too sure about Blonde, Trashbear and the 3 JPs.

I don't know rune but if that shit is real, then fucking hell that hits hard. Seems like case of gender dysphoria and not actually someone wanting to be a tranny for attention.

I'd go with "trendy mis-self-diagnosis followed by self-help 'treatment' (very publicly pretending/failing to be a man) (and pretending/failing to be 'EN') that exacerbates the problem(s)."

I think I mentioned a few hundred pages ago that I knew of her before she became Yugo—we're two "degrees" apart, socially—and that's why I wouldn't watch, because it would be a sad spectacle. I meant that's how I couldn't help but see it, because to me she'd be a "real person" fucking up, not that it would be sad.

Still not looking.

YouTube comment isn't working for me. The comments are not showing even if the counter suggested that there are should be comments under the video.
Taking a quick look at r/youtube, turns out it is not just for me.

I heard about YouTube moving the comment section a while ago, probably I (or maybe everyone) supposed to get the update now.

I'm not a resident JP-speaker but, to be honest, I do personally hear だったら which makes the initial translation accurate.

The silver lining is that the EN fans don't really give much of a fuck about the RP and no native English speaker who watches Yugo is under any illusion that they're listening to a woman, so this only really hurts the JP fans who care more about people maintaining character.

People don't get infinite chances, though. Yugo really needs to fix up.

Yeah I went back and listened more again and I think it sounds like that too. Edited my post already.
