None of this is true. Egas Moniz, the Portuguese doctor who invented the procedure, indeed got shot by a schizophrenic patient and left paralyzed, but that patient wasn't lobotomized. And he got his Nobel prize, which was never rescinded. Walter Freeman, the icepick guy, retired in 1968 and never suffered any consequences.
