no, even unemployment claims ended last year. the US didn't do much besides that (about 2 months of expenses, unemployment qualifications if covid closed your workplace, and eviction halt) it wouldn't be enough for more than a month even if it was still running. but it's been over for 6 months or more now.

I'm certain he would start a begging account though.

It didn't really work that way in Canada. And even people who went on benefits are being asked to repay them now, though I'm not sure the criteria for repayment is.

So I really doubt the land of the free has much. Plus, wouldn't you need doctors certificates? No doctor is going to say that Alyssa is high risk.

In the US, people received $600/week of federally-funded enhanced unemployment for a few months in 2020, including--for the first time--self-employed folks who were forced to stop working due to lockdowns. Then that got trimmed to $300/week.

It was almost even worse--the benefits almost expired altogether, and even the $300/week compromise almost didn't happen. The Democrat-controlled Congress refused to pass additional unemployment benefits, so former President Trump raided a FEMA account and used executive action to disburse 6 weeks of $300/week federal benefits after the $600/week had already expired. This was one of his few legitimate achievements throughout his presidency, and it is one for which I remain personally grateful, because I am self-employed person and my business was barred from normal operations for six months. The $600/week got canceled much earlier than I was able to return to work, so I depended on the Trump money. Fortunately I was able to resume work as the federal benefits ended. Had I remained dependent on unemployment benefits, the state would have only provided $150 per week, when my pre-lockdown income was about $1500/week.

After six weeks of $300/week, the federal subsidy got removed entirely. So any person who is receiving unemployment benefits is receiving only state funds, which are paltry except in a handful of blue states.

In conclusion, for Kindness to receive significant amounts of government money, she'll have to go for Social Security Disability. The faucet of COVID welfare benefits has been reduced to a slow drip.

warp speed and the unemployment extension were the best things he did. I'm in a blue state so the state supplemented as well.

in the US it always depends what state you live in; federal help is usually paltry, so the state is who you'll rely on for food stamps and welfare of any kind including covid moneys.

kindness, even if she could convince a doctor she's high-risk, would get nothing extra for that. fatso would get nothing either. they're still in Colorado, I have a vague feeling that they don't or can't qualify for much help, seeing as they are able-bodied adults playing sick. if anyone can verify the state welfare setup there I'd be interested to know what they're able to get just by being lazy fucks.

Since you bring it up, Operation Warp Speed is a lot like Bonnie's sexual reassignment surgery: a counterproductive intervention that results in the worsening of the problem it's meant to treat. Bonnie's procedures, like all SRS and GRS, resulted in "sexual organs" that don't function sexually. Warp Speed resulted in poisonous injections that don't function as vaccines because they don't prevent infection or transmission. If you think the vaccine is a great accomplishment even though it has failed to deliver any meaningful benefits, then you must think Dr. Rumer and Dr. Gallagher are highly accomplished physicians.

I wouldn't frame this as stubbornness but just practicality - not everyone has the option of just choosing to stay home from work just because they feel like it. Kindness brings in no income, and Paul has decided to live with her. Therefore, he has to go to work, pay all of her bills, do all of the housework, and coddle her endlessly. It's a 24 hour a day job with no off time and no vacation. She was a lot more independent before she was able to rope him into living with her. It's been a slow backslide for months of her gradually claiming to be more and more disabled to get to the point where she has no responsibility at all. She boiled the frog we call Paul.

With Alyssa saying that she's in charge of chores, I think what's more likely is they got into an argument about how she doesn't contribute to the household in any meaningful way. I've seen this exact scenario play out in (slightly) less dysfunctional relationships, and it never ends well. The person doing all the work and carrying all the responsibility always ends up losing their shit. Add tranny BPD to that and it's a recipe for disaster.
