Hector will likely defend himself saying he didn't encourage the DDOS of Kiwifarms (he did though) and in court he'd claim he still believed David joined the 41% or he himself was fooled by the hoax. It'd be a ridiculous battle to prove and it's a damn shame that there will never be a respected organization that will dispute Near's suicide hoax.

These guys fucked up by allegedly "confirming" Byuu died, which leaves no room for them to get out of there without any sort of death certificate. Japan isn't a fucking warzone, they have tight controls over this stuff and there would be some paperwork regardless. If he had claimed that Byuu disappeared after writing a suicide note, not being found after, it would leave him room for plausible deniability over a disappearance, in this case paperwork wouldn't be a thing as Byuu wouldn't be declared dead just like that. Maybe some possible complications on the police side, but this wasn't a concern over there, as we know nobody died unlike he claimed. Anyways, this guy won't answer for shit considering he didn't fraud anyone other than some guys on the internet, but what a fucking mess this thing was!

The only remotely logical excuse at this point is "he died of natural causes" which would be a coverup by the Japanese government assuming the truth of the assertion that it was suicide.

You can just barely squeak by saying "well I didn't KNOOOOWWW they ruled it natural causes" maybe, possibly, but I don't have a photographic memory of everything Marcan's said so there's a decent chance he's already boxed himself out of this excuse by prior statements about the events that supposedly transpired.

Even if someone died of natural causes, a death certificate would exist and could be provided. Doesn't even need to show the person's name, just post a picture of themselves with the document, hiding the name and showing the death date, unless some other guy from the same background died precisely at the same place and date, odds are it would be the real deal. They fucked up, could have just dropped their prior identity like this as, for all that is known, their real identity is still safe. It's like a fucking comedy, some guy tells a lie and keeps doubling down to maintain it while it gets increasingly harder to keep the masquerade, except this isn't funny, it's just sad. This guy picked the worst course of action over some horseshit nobody cared about instead of looking for professional help, the only way a worse fuckup could have happened was if they really died!
