I remember it was the author of Galko-Chan who was arrested for this. But even then I don't hear about lolicon/shotacon artists exclusively getting arrested for what they draw. Unless they actually have CSEM on them or have been actively molesting a child, but even then this is extremely rare. Seems like a lot of the people getting arrested for CSEM these days have no connections to lolicon itself, but are active despisers of it in order to divert attention away from themselves.

While the artists are fucked up in their own right could just be commissioning work for profit like they are not even interested in the material they just draw it. The people who buy and consume this stuff are the 100% fucked up ones who like to whack it to kids.

Since I was pinged… The context is that Phase Connect, the agency Pippa belongs to, was having a "Karaoke relay" where each streamer did a karaoke stream for about 15 minutes before the next streamer started. The joke was that a stream by Nasa, who has a very lovely and sweet singing voice, was immediately followed by Pippa's… not so amazing voice singing Ram Ranch. She was not actually discussing penises.

As for vtuber fans being pedophiles in general, I mean, okay, let's say that all vtuber characters are ten-year-old children. Okay. I'm still not watching them for sexual gratification, so am I still a pedophile? Almost all of the time I'm watching them I'm not actually "watching" at all but listening while gaming or doing chores. Am I still a pedophile? What if I watch some other media which features child characters like Dexter's Laboratory or the Harry Potter movies and still manage to do so without masturbating; am I still a pedophile? At what point am I allowed to enjoy non-sexualized media featuring child characters without being a pedophile? None at all?

But it's moot anyway since while there may be vtubers out there who portray child characters and sexualize themselves, that's a vast minority and certainly none of the ones I watch. Pippa's model looks childlike, sure, but she never characterizes herself as a child and her "roommate" is not a child. So if listening to her sing Ram Ranch poorly or talk about her bad dental health while playing some shitty Korean MMO while I cut vegetables still makes me a pedophile in your eyes, then fine, whatever. No pleasing you, I guess. But I hope at some point you realize it's more productive to save that word for people who are actually harming children in real life rather than dudes streaming foul-mouthed cartoon rabbits on YouTube.
