I'm not familiar with a lot of his earlier content. But this clip comes to mind. You don't get moments like this from him anymore. There's some salt but the rage is gone.

So much to dissect right way.
1) Paul has a back injury..thats not great? Not terrible, but not great like most back injuries.
2) Mama Nell also has bad health, which is why he went to go visit them last time. Not because they paid for the trip and for him to get married in their smoke-ridden, cat filled home.
3) They also had this bad health back then, which is why fans donated for him to go see them for the last time.

Fuck that, I wanna see him work an early shift. He said that waking up at 9am the other day completely destroyed him, that it's unreasonable to expect manbaby Phil to wake up that early because "he has a life" (??????) and that it took him two days to recover from waking up at such an early ungodly hour. Imagine if he had to wake up at 4:30am like Pedro getting ready for his meat packing plant job.

Cheers for 2000 pages already, my friends. I can't wait for what it'll be like at the end of the year. I'm pretty confident we'll get at least 1 or 2 new plot elements to our cow by the end of the year, Phil's current situation is already putting him in a spot to be more and more desperate.

I'm sure his parents have a lot to do with why he is the way he his, so it's not like I hold them on some pedestal, but he really pisses me off when he shits on them in order to build himself up. Given that he's probably the parasite that he is today because they likely indulged him in everything he wanted, you'd think he'd not detest them the way he seems to. Then again, I could very much see him getting 99% of anything he ever wanted but resenting them for the 1% (Wolverine toy) that they didn't.

So, regarding priming the tip jar with 1MM's tips: I think the tips really do come in, but he's definitely doing it. I'm not sure he understands why he does it, but he does it. Sure, Phil's ego comes first, but he's also got tiered tips goals. It's a simple thing that a lot of streamers do. Smaller streamers than Phil, normally, but a lot of them. Phil will viciously beg no matter what, round tips down, and he's got no popups for certain tips and manually updates his tips goal to obscure as much as possible.
TL;DR: Even if Phil is dumb, OIC and Swagginz know streamer culture well enough to know Phil needs to salt the jar, and he needs to appear fairly high on searches to maintain any degree of relevance. Back in the last days of Twitch his chat was 99% detractors by weight. Nowadays he's cut off all the detractors, so all he's got left is Derich, Habib, Slayer, Rahb and the remaining Crême De La Dent. We do a lot to keep Phil relevant, but the same begging day in day out for the rest of his life with him progressively playing less and less games is only gonna make him sink further into obscurity.
Yes, I don't think he is smart enough to invest back into his own business, but he lucked out with the main three whales: Jeff, who is loaded and tips daily for Phil to use as he sees fit. I'm sure Phil just wanted to sweep this money under the rug, but some other whale came up with the idea of tiered tips goals so Jeff's 25$ can be put to better use: After all, some minnows might scratch their wallet for the Dentspecs. As a streamer, if you want to make some money, you definitely need to have at least 10 to 30 viewers and a couple bucks in your tip jar. There's a lot of unethical tricks you can do to fool generous people. Vague mental ilnesses, vague physical illnesses, I'm dying lol, my house is in danger, I desperately need money, I live in a wartorn country, I'm in a wheelchair... Sounds familiar? And I don't think Phil's whales are dumb enough to not know about them, or moral enough to be above any of them.
This is a guy who literally claimed he was going to be out on the street, flat broke, sitting on his ass if he didn't get 300$ a day while living large, getting daily takeout and expensive meals out, whaling on gacha and flying in a sperg to be his live-in maid. And we're putting the relatively harmless priming the tip jar below him because it's what, too difficult? I don't think he's below that level of effort, even if it did take some prodding from his whales.

You see a thot mashing buttons with her tits out and 300 viewers but a dead chat and 50$ in tips? Girl is popular and succesful! The best way to be succesful is to already be succesful. The best way to get views on your Twitch channel is to be on the frontpage. The best way to get tips is to be at a sweet spot where you're not a complete loser who could never get a buck from even their mom, and also to not be a loaded moneywagon who just plain doesn't need more tips. Even Phil knows this shit, as he's often gloated about being top 5 streamers on youtube on whatever he was streaming. And he often complains aloud about how things seem to slow down when he hits all his tips goals. Nevermind that he's getting botted and whaled but alright.
