Does youtube-dl still work for ripping YT vids? I remember reading something about how it doesn't rip vids right, and I'm not sure if it'd be compatible with editing using something like OBS as it's been awhile.

But I'm thinking of firing up editing software to do a supercut of Andy being a douche on the last episode. He's so bad he's inspiring me to possibly even make videos.

If you get FFMPEG installed theres a command line switch you can use with yt-dlp to download best audio, best video and merge/convert to standard MP4 as opposed to fucking garbage-ass webm format. It's what I use whenever a good youtube-channel pops up that is for sure not going to survive very long.

edit: this is more advice for macfags and linuxspergs, no idea if/how the whole ffmpeg thing works in windoze.

MP4 is shit and based on Apple's garbage QuickTime format - it stores the index data at the end of the file so you can't watch partial downloads.
Matroska (which webm is basically just a subset of) is much better, that's why youtube-dl/yt-dlp uses it as default.

The grift arc has been absolutely horrible for PPP's performance, it's just that in the immediate aftermath it is warski leaving the worse taste in my mouth. I can't imagine how with warski out of the picture it could be spun as his fault that PPP has lost steam. Speaking for myself, I will be happy when warski is gone to not ever have to bring him up at all.

They didn't really run out of content. There are tons of different characters currently immersed in retardation that aren't involved with Ralph/AF, tons of different storylines that PPP could riff on easily, but he isn't doing it.

There has to be some specific reason why, because I can't see any harm in covering something like the TRS drama for one episode and just coming back to Ralph/AF on the next episode.

In the early days of YouTube, it was very easy to grab the files from just the page source/activities, and they were in .flv, a Flash player format that wasn’t especially easy to play.

For what it’s worth, QuickTime was amazing technology for its time. Outmoded by modern standards? Sure. Garbage? Definitely not.
