They do have standards or a sort, but it's a queer sort. Tumblrites are suffering because they are some combination of angry, crazy, or ugly. When these are your problems, and Tumblr is your coping place, you want to follow people who are at least as angry, crazy, or ugly as you, because it can make you feel, if not superior, at least not alone. It takes certain amount of imaginative effort to sympathize with, since this kind of thing is far from the experience of most Kiwis.

Yup, that looks like a dorm. She's 19, which probably means she's either a freshman or a sophomore. It might be Harris-Millis, which has public bathrooms. I'm guessing she's in a room/floor with other non-binary and trans people, which UVM certainly accommodates.
