reddit General

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Yes, they should do this. Ban all "right-wing" content from reddit completely. No excuses. No second chances.
And then let the internecine cannibal holocaust begin in earnest.
Oh dear God, imagine Redditors coming here? In a huge influx?
The "back to reddit" meme aside, half the time you see something shockingly idiotic in here and search the username, they literally are from reddit and used the same username there.

Although only with that extra push by a devout leftist pig, it now seems that calling trannies, LGBTQ yuckos groomers, or complaining in any way of bad actors in the alphabet mafia around kids is "hate speech" under reddit's practical implication of its absurd hate speech policy.

I hope this serves to radicalize people. Dumb-dumb Americans have bought into this absurd idea that whatever people do in their private lives only affects them, which is of course absurd (and we only need to look into the experiment with increased divorce, single motherhood to see how this is so). You start messing around with kids and then attempt to silence anyone who dares criticize this, I cannot imagine a quicker way to ignite real hatred.

And I am ALL for it.--namingly grudging, hesitant acceptance blossoming into real hatred.

Because these people are slacktivists, they're more concerned with looking like they're "doing something" instead of actually doing something, and bullying innocent randos over the Internet is one of the easiest things to do. The ones who really care are volunteering at homeless shelters or over in Africa giving aid to poverty stricken villages and not looking for asspats doing it.

Exactly. If these losers really wanted to make a difference, they would use their numbers to co-ordinate attacks on legitimate targets. Members of the elite, corporate HQ's, so on. They have the numbers to be effective.

But they're lazy coomers who want everything for free. So all they do is go after randoms who said the word "Fag" in MySpace 20 years ago and call it a day.

What a waste of oxygen. A group of chimps would wage a more effective revoloution.

Don't fucking compare a chimp to a redditor, a chimp can actually accomplish things outside of neckbeard on a higher level each week.

There's been a few mass migrations to the site even since I've started paying attention to it. Usually happens whenever something major happens and another sub-section of a social site dares to not toe the 'right' line. People swarm in here, shitpost for a while and drag down post quality. Some remain and integrate.

Null's just out of patience with all the bullshit so we're closed for now.
I don't think there's a long term solution for the very real problem you're pointing out. Like, no website is immune to this and there has never been a website that has preserved it's core culture in the history of the internet. It also hinges on one person keeping it online. Josh could get hit by a bus while crossing the street and KF is just done and dusted.

chimps also have serious muscle strength while redditors are known for struggling with soylent bottles
The weight of the neckbeard defies physics.

Yeah fundamentally you cant stop people from jumping ship to somewhere else. The low quality shitposting is the only real downside. If you are tired of the bullshit and want an honest discussion come right on by, but know that you are dealing with people who wont entertain any bullshit from you.

Edit: Newgrounds seems to be the same thing that it was when it started. Yes, I know thats an ancient example but it is true. It's faded into irrelevency after flash videos went out of date...but it is still there.

Its a very genuine issue and there's also the threat of going the same way as Something Awful if the walls stay up. Eventually the circlejerk and echo-chambering becomes too deafening.

I don't think there's anything wrong with joining up as things come up, mind I also think anyone who is wanting to join in should just wait and lurk while the registrations are closed. Shit-tons to read and to keep track of even without being able to chime in.

Yeah, as simple as it is, lurking will help you not look like an idiot. But, you got redditors coming here....so its a given they will fuck it up.

Fucking up or getting into a stupid argument is inevitable when it involves socializing with people. It's not melting down over it or moving on from the mistake that is important. Everyone on this site has fought over something or gotten heated over their opinion at least once.

Youre asking too much from them when they dont expect to be doxxed, or even understand the concept.

It actually would be a good idea to do that, it would cause them to eat themselves and die out like anything else and just disappear after a short while. Same with occupy wall street. Started good in idea, then was ran by people that practice magic.

The whole reason that Reddit will never have a successful IPO is that they will have to show and prove their numbers in term of bots versus actual users. It's the same problem that Twitter ran into.

I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of traffick on that site is just bots fucking with other bots.
I’ve posted before in this thread about this, but go to /r/all, pick a post, go to that post’s subreddit, and count the number of posts with over 1000 upvotes sorted by Hot (the default sort). Most of the front page subs have millions of subscribers but only a handful of recent highly upvoted posts. That’s not what you’d expect from an organic site, and it doesn’t match my memory of what Reddit was like in its heyday.

I just did this experiment again while writing this post. The first post on /r/all for me had 13.7k upvotes and was from /r/LeopardsAteMyFace. The sub has 840k subscribers and the post I saw was the only one with over 10k upvotes. There were three posts with 1-10k upvotes, and the rest were in the hundreds or below. There are also only nine posts on the Hot page that were made in the last 24 hours.

I also checked our /r/wallstreetbets. It has over 12 million subscribers yet at the time of this post has only one post on the default subreddit view with over 10k upvotes, around a dozen with 1-10k upvotes, and lots of hours old posts with only hundreds of upvotes.

You could blame the lack of posts on overzealous mods deleting everything, and maybe that’s the case, but no matter what the reason is, investors won’t be happy if a supposed “social media” site is missing the “social” part.

I lurked for years and only made an account because registration kept closing after Chris banged his mom and I was like “whoah damn I should maybe register an account because this might be my only chance to shitpost with these fine fellas”.

I mean MySpace was an international sensation and it lasted maybe 10 years, I think online communities in general have like a 10-15 year lifespan. You should probably look at your internet communities like you might look at your pet cat, a friend but not for your whole life.

Its hilarious reddit morons actually think their stupid tard repository is full of Nazis.

Any generic "men bad!" or "white people bad!" posts get 10,000 + upvotes and hundreds of dollars of awards regardless of the context.
They have no fucking idea what its like to live in a real far-right dictatorship, they cant even fathom what is like living in fear that you might have said something bad about the generalissimo and somebody reported you so a paramilitary task group is going to kick down the door at 4am, drag you out in front of the entire neighborhood (with nobody daring to say shit) and disappear your ass, probably in a ditch or a river

Maybe burgerland should get a dictatorship like that if only to show these fags how good they have it, but then again odds are they will all turn fascist or at least pretend to because they are too chickenshit to keep their "ideals" when shit gets real,

What? you're thinking of facebook, myspace lasted less than a fart in the wind and was never a thing outside murrica

Myspace wasn't a thing outside the US? I wouldn't call it a fart in the wind, it found a niche among indie musicians and is actually still going strong as a site to promote music but I had no idea it wasn't universally popular in its heyday.

I'm fucking late to the party , since I 've been too busy to use Reddit, I just found out about the banning this morning.

The board was progressively getting shittier with the influx of extremely racist, low effort trolls.I pointed it out to the mods that over the last 6 months , there were a lot of excessively hostile towards black people posts. We're talking KKK, let's go lynch some niggers level hostile just sitting on the front page of TiA for days before being bumped off by some tranny shit. The entirety of the Race Tag went from weird white people trying to cuck themselves out of existence for praise from Jews ---to just straight random racism directed towards black people for any reason. It had gotten so bad that people ( the vocal minority shitting up the board) were actually pretending that the Civil Rights movement wasn't that big and that black people could vote , with no problems whatsoever , since the 1800s. I expect to deal with this imaginary history shit on other boards, but those fucks really were dead set on pushing that " American history was perfect, stop complaining nigger" shit.

It was the only way in for the Anti-Evil people and the Against Hate cucks to target the board, but nobody listened.

It's the same tactic. Any board openly discussing troons and degeneracy must be flooded with EZ racism until it's destroyed. The Mods of TiA looked the other way on this shit and I warned them this would happen. It's a shame the back-ups on are on SaidIt which is beyond cancerous. It's like anytime a board gets kicked off of reddit, and they have a back-up shelter, the shelter gets filled with the retarded racists and conspiracy theorists who have nothing to say but spout actual racism to the point all the escapees come here to get away from it. Look at what happened to ConsumeProduct for example. Kicked off of Reddit for being a threat to advertisers, founded a shelter and now it's just Q-Anon and random race war shit.
Edit: It's all psy-ops and I have to ask, whatever happened to the Anti-Ops info graphic that used to float around anti-censorship boards?

Perhaps we can devise a test to weed out redditors. Maybe post a claim and anyone that tries to DEBOOOONK you gets an instaban. In order to register you need to write a 500 word essay without using the phrases "heckin' wholesome" and "big chungus". Warn newcomers that registering here will take 1000 off their karma.
Just tell them to write "nigger."

The way things are going, Reddit will become another Knockout, but even worse due to the massive size. It will be like old Tumblr on roids. Terrible.
