What's the rarest game you own?

I can't tell you the rarest game I own because it is so rare and in such limited supply that I would dox myself if I revealed it.

Fucking hype.
I understand you all too well

A physical copy of Worldend Syndrome for the Switch. The English localizations are up to $100 for opened ones and you don't see many listings. It's not very old so I'm interested to see where it goes in the future.

HOW THE FUCK IS THIS PIECE OF SOFTWARE EXPENSIVE?

Like both versions for the PS4 and Switch are up there, It was down to under $20 a year or so ago and that was with the art book that it came with. What triggered this price hike, holy shit.

I (think) a lot of their titles are produced via preorders with only a bit of stock left over for retail purchases. Fun fact, you can't even find it listed on some game market sites which leads me to believe the preorder thing more.

Haunting Ground
Kuon
Rule of Rose
Ni No Kuni Collector's Edition

Those are probably the rarest, although I own a lot of stuff that's going for retarded prices now. like the Suikoden games, Xenosaga games, Koudelka and Tron Bonne. I bought a lot of older games between 2005-2012 and prices were dirt cheap for a lot of stuff back then.

If imports count, then I've got some physical games that weren't released physically or not released at all here.

Silent Hill 3. I bought it for $115 and the price is only going up.

I have Silent Hill 4: The Room for Playstation 2 which currently gets around ~$130 U.S. "Complete in Box" on eBay according to Pricecharting.

I honestly don't understand the spikes for the numbered Silent Hill games since I thought they were fairly common, at least on Playstation 2.

They were, but even common games can get price hikes if they're popular enough, and it seems like there's no possibility in sight that they'll get rereleased. There was a short while when Final Fantasy VII PS1 was going for around $100, and that was after it had been consistently in production for like a decade, and sitting around in Walmart bargain bins for $15 for years.

Then again, value is mostly a social thing. There've been plenty of low print run games that nobody cares about that go for peanuts, until someone with a loud enough voice screams "LOOOOOOOOOW PRIIIIIIIIIIIIINT RUUUUUUUUUUUN" and then the hoarders scoop up every copy they can find. American Mensa Academy on Wii is a perfect example. Look at that price hike back in 2016. Nobody gave a crap about it until those videos showcasing complete Wii collections started dropping on YouTube. On the other side of the coin, Punch-Out Wii, one of the best games on the platform, only goes for like $30-something. It's Punch-Out, it's full of racial stereotypes, I'd guess no YouTuber wants to touch it because of that, so the price stays fair.

And those complete Wii collection videos are as consoomer as it gets. I like the Wii, but even for me, a complete collection seriously has a ratio of like 1:70 for games I'd actually want to play for more than an hour. Game collectors are loons.

I had silent hill 4 at one point on ps2 but sold it because it wouldn’t work, at least on my ps2. And yeah, I have no idea why they’re so expensive. I’ve seen things that sold far less and are more niche that are far cheaper.

Not sure what you mean with rare. I still have my very first console a Master System 2 with some games. Also a Gameboy with several. I'd wager in these days that is rare. Otherwise going by price it is probably Suikoden 2 for the PS 1

PSO ep 1&2 plus
GameCube bb adapter
Outrun 2006 coast 2 coast for Xbox

I have a few more but those are the most expensive gaming items I can think of off the top of my head.

I've got Choro Q HG4, which is apparently kind of hard to come by, Army Men RTS, another one I've only seen once, and apparently you can't get the PT demo anymore? I have that

Also apparently disc copies of ps2 San andreas are becoming rare? According to my local retro game store guy at least

I doubt it, they made literally millions of copies for the PS2 and original XBox, unless he means the Special Edition version or the PC version.

remember he said "from my local retro game store", those fuckers in my experience will drive up the prices of games to a retarded amount to make profit through bullshit excuses.

you're telling me you don't just have all GameCube and WII games you actually want on a USB drive and load it through Homebrew?
Same with Dreamcast, the minute i found my old Dreamcast could play burnt CD-Rs i spent a whole day making burnt CDs, because fuck paying 150$ for some of those games.
Even my PS2 collection is very small, I go by a simple piece of logic, I buy games i have intentions of playing at some point, I just hate with people say "BUYY THIS GAME ITS SO RARE", I just don't see myself playing many of the "rare" games.
Also with Those mini consoles, I always pump them full of Roms as a semi kinda but not really legit way of playing those games.
